R.I.P. COFFEE MAKER

United States
January 10, 2018 9:24am CST
My coffee maker brewed it's last cup of coffee and is now heading toward the pearly gates of coffee makers in the sky. My coffee maker gave me good service and it lasted for almost 15 years. I really was attached to my faithful machine and it brewed a great pot of coffee for me every single morning. I feel sad saying good-bye but I do need my caffeine fix and will replace it today. Thankfully it's a nice day today. The sun is shining and it's not as freezing cold as it has been so I'll be out later shopping for a new coffee maker. I don't expect the new one to give me as much loyalty as the old one did but I'll love it tomorrow morning when I'm in dire need of that first cup of hot coffee. That's my plans for today (maybe adding in lunch with my daughters). What's going on in your little corner of the myLot world?

I have never used a coffee maker and am quite happy simply boiling water in the kettle and pouring it onto instant coffee granules.

@JolietJake I am very happy with instant coffee. Of course coffee machines were unknown when I was young, so it is natural for me to be accustomed to such.

@JolietJake That makes sense and also explains why you would acquire a taste for it.

We retired our old Fridge which gave us service for 27 long years, and never broke down. But we had to buy new refrigerators, so we did.

I don't like coffee, and my husband likes the instant sort. We've never owned a coffee maker.

I have 2 coffee machines but I seldom use them. I only use one of them when I have a visitor who drinks coffee.

I think 15 years is a really long time for a coffee maker. I hope you find a really good replacement.

Actually, your coffee maker was a good little servant to you and for 15 years. We have had many, many coffee makers here over the years.

The items you buy today to replace older ones don't seem to last nearly as long. I'm sure they are programmed to break down within a certain timeframe.

I have instant as a back up if mine croaks early and I have not brushed my hair yet.
