What Would You Have Done?

So my husband and I were out running errands last night picking up some things we needed. We had not eaten dinner yet so we were right by a Golden Corral. Its a buffet style dinner place where you go in, pick the foods you want and eat. You can eat as much as you like (which isn't much for me) and even desert.
We chose a booth on one end and there was a drink station on the other side of the booth from us. People were in and out of the booth station refilling their drinks when I saw something move up on the top.
I turned to look and saw it again. It was a cockroach staring at me. It looked like it wanted to come down and join me in the meal of my salad. I was totally disgusted and told my husband. The gentleman refilling his coffee looked at me and said "I would ask for my money back" as he walked back to his family and started eating again.
My husband and I got up and left everything on the table for the little critter to head out the door. When we got home I called, as there was no one at the counter when we left, and talked to a manager. She told me that they do know about them and they come in with the customers. NOT THIS CUSTOMER HONEY!
The rest of the night I felt like they were crawling on me. Now I know there are a lot of bugs in Texas but this makes me wonder if I want to ever eat out again here in any restaurant if they come in with customers.
What would you have done if this was you?

The first thing you need to do is call the health department to the roaches and where you sen them, And that they blew it off like it was nothing and blamed you.
Next you write home office and let them know how the staff treated you for reporting the roaches. And that you were not given any money back. AND that you will not step foot in that place again.
I would have demanded to see a manager in the moment, so that he/she can see it, plus that place is expensive, you should not have paid for anything.
I hate to say this but its common that restaurants are infested with roaches and rats, everyone of them I worked at when I was from 16 years old to 20 years old had both. And that is why I do not eat out often, especially buffets.

We are calling them this morning, no one should have to have an experience like that just for eating out. They should be taking care of that situation and putting something in place so it doesn't happen. We don't eat out often either but I never expected that.

@Daelii Thats what I would think, but this little one made it no secret that he was there. He happily crawled all over the top of the booth and he was no little one either. There is no way they could not know he was there and where there is one there are many

I would have taken a photo of it for starters then talked to the managers and then posted it on Facebook to warn others. I doubt it came in on someone it is more likely I think that they need to have pest control come in and look around. I would never eat there again! I have eaten at a Golden Coral up in upstate NY and it was delicious! There are so few buffets around anymore

I have noticed that, very few buffets anymore. I would have taken a photo if I had my phone with me but I had forgotten it. I called the health dept and they are supposed to be getting someone over there for the problem. We won't be ever eating there again

I would have reconsidered eating there for sure. I did pest control for 4 years and one of the things I learned was that if you see one or two cockroaches...there are probably hundreds if not thousands behind the walls. When you see ONE, you know there is an INFESTATION. So, a restaurant showing one would be a sign that they are LOADED with them.

Exactly, which is why we left. They sent us free dinner tickets so we could go back and try again, we threw them away. I told my husband we are never going there again, especially when they know their there and still serve food. Eeeewww, just eeew

That is very unsanitary and I would have to call the health department for that.

This creeps me out!
I would have jumped out of my seat if I saw one near me.
I would have walked out too.
Though if my mom was with me she would have given whoever was working there an earful. According to my mom, everyone working in the place is responsible for hygiene. ..not just the manager.
