What Is Your Experience with Drinking Alkaline Water?

Hubby is convinced alkaline water will help his health. He believes it will help blood circulation and our terribly dry skin. (I feel like I have scales.) We are currently drinking city water that goes through a reverse osmosis process. Has anyone tried drinking a cup or two of alkaline water a day? If so, would you recommend it to others? Has it helped you? If so, what difference did it make in your health that you have noticed?

We always buy a gallon weekly of kangen water which they say is alkaline water but I don't see any difference in my health. It's like ordinary water the only difference is they are expensive than ordinary purified water

It is more expensive. It only should be used to replace about two cups of the water you usually drink in a day, so you still drink mostly regular water.

I buy bottled purified drinking water. I have never had alkaline water, I don't think. I'm interested in hearing if it helps you. I also have really dry skin -- if you have positive results, I may have to give it a try myself.

I'm using Hubby as my guinea pig. If it works for him, I'll give it a try. Then I'll announce my results.

Over here ,some people once believed alkaline water could improve PH value of body and prevent cancer, even some took the sodium bicarbonate.Scientists cleared it up later on.

@bagarad Some scientists are doing research for injecting the sodium bicarbonate injection into hepatocellular carcinoma tissue through interventional therapy to" starve" cancer cells, which is a long way from clinical application and doesn't mean taking the sodium bicarbonate orally works.

@changjiangzhibin89 I've spent a lot of time reading medical newsletters today that talk about cures for cancer of various types, and my mind is boggled.

Not knowing anything about Alkaline water I did a quick look. It is interesting but before drinking it I would check with my doctor, especially because of my age and the meds I take....
Some people believe that alkaline water helps our bodies metabolize nutrients and expel toxins more efficiently than regular tap water, leading to better health and performance. Anecdotal evidence supports some of those claims. But so far, we don't have so

The woman who massages my husband told him to try it -- that it helped her. Before I try it, I want more feedback than that and to see how much it helps Hubby.

Our well water is so bad we have to put it through reverse osmosis to make it drinkable. Even city water is better. All I know is that my skin has gotten worse since we moved to the city, and I don't know why.

@shaggin Until the end of 2014 we lived in the house with well water treated with reverse osmosis and a water softener. We don't have soft water here, but are thinking of getting it. It's really hard. The reverse osmosis only treats drinking water -- not what I shower in.

California water is very "hard". Water filters have to be changed out earlier than suggested.

Never experienced alkaline water yet but heard that Drinking too much alkaline water, or drinking water with a high pH, may disrupt the body's normal pH. This can lead to a condition called metabolic alkalosis, which may cause confusion, nausea, vomiting, hand tremors, muscle twitching, and tingling in the face, hands or feet.

I tried alkaline water using a product that you steeped in the water. It was very expensive and, as far as I could tell, made absolutely zero difference to my health. What I do recommend is lemon water, which is another form of alkaline water. Just juice a lemon and add it to 2 litres of water. It not only helps with alkalizing the body (lemon is one of the most alkalizing foods around) but provides other great benefits as well.

Thank you for that suggestion. I've heard that lemon water is beneficial, but I hadn't associated it with this.
