Morning Feed...

Spent a few minutes at the window trying to see what all I could see...there's a titmouse that keeps showing up long enough to grab ONE seed and immediately flying off so I keep missing it.
But here are a few of the visitors today:
A) Common Grackle
B) Male House Sparrow
C) Female Cardinal
D) Junco (also known as a Snowbird)
E) Goldfinch (winter plummage)
F) White-Throated Sparrow
G) Male Cardinal
H) Female House Sparrow
I had a few doves earlier, and I heard a bluejay hollering but never saw him. Haven't seen any of the woodpeckers or flickers today (yet) but of course the squirrels are out there being...well...squirrely.

I'm sorry, but D doesn't look anything like Anne Murray.
Lovely collection. I think all I have in the back 40 are doves, cardinals, and squirrels.

They lose their yellow coloring during the winter, it returns again in the spring

@JolietJake I should know this, but I didn’t! My dad is obsessed with birds.

@JolietJake All I seem to get in my garden are sparrows, blackbirds, pigeons and robins. These latter are not what you call robins, they are a lot smaller.

I love learning more about birds, at your discussions! It helps me to recognize more birds, that come around our front yard. Birds don't dare come around Kobe's back-yard! He hikes them out in about two seconds
Do you ever get barn swallows?

Nope, no barn. And no place for them to really fly to swoop on insects with all the tree cover on the property

@JolietJake My grandma got barn swallows, every spring. They'd build a mud nest, beneath the barn's overhang. Their nests were so enclosed, I doubt if any other birds could bother their young.
