Forgetting can create good exercising sometimes

Yesterday morning I forgot where I put my car keys as I was about to wash the car. I said they must have been in the living room on the first floor. So I went up, and they weren't there. Then I remembered to check my jacket pockets at the entrance. So went down the stairs and they weren't there either. Then I thought maybe I put them in my trousers. So went all the way up the second floor and nothing. This stairs climbing went on for a while until I finally found them In the laundry room. I have no idea how they go there but that was some good morning exercise. I did feel my quads afterwards. Do you often forget where you put things?

It happens all the time and we also have the house on two floors.

I hope you don’t have to go up and down the stairs several times searching for something

@Madshadi I work on my computer upstairs, the kitchen is downstairs, when there is something on the stove I go up and down dozens of times.

@LadyDuck that's a great way to stay fit. I don't see it as a bad thing

Misplacing things is also a good way to clean or tidy my home. Clearing the clutter that collects on the coffee table....night stand....the entryway table.....

That’s my wife’s task. I’m just glad when everything is nice and tidy

I agree @MorleyHunt. Lots of things get put away when we're searching for something.

It annoys me too when that happens. And it happens more often lately

It used to annoy me to be walking back and forth and not taking things with me but now I see it as enforced activity and good exercise - just as you've discovered. However our house is single-storey so I don't get any exercise going up and down stairs.

@JudyEv with that vast property I'm sure you get to move a lot anyways, whether you forget something or not.

But I understand your property is big there so you get to walk for longer distances when you forget things.

@Madshadi I was really talking about indoors. Outside, I try to take what I might need with me to save multiple trips but it doesn't always work.

@nela13 I don’t have to forget anything intentionally. I’m already doing it very often

@Madshadi when we complain that we don't have time to exercise, all we have to do is forget to some things in the right place and we will have at least 30 minutes of exercise
