Deleting old discussions is a personal choice

And I know a handful of people that do it for whatever reason(s).
But I leave mine where they are.
After all, those discussions do have the potential to help you earn for years and years...or until the site stops paying, or you get banned, or someone breaks the Internet.
Any time you make a discussion, response, or comment here, you are creating an unlimited earning potential.
Unless, of course, it is deleted by you or Admin (or the owner of a discussion, or the owner of a response).
Now, it doesn't happen often, but occasionally something I did one or two years ago will get new interaction.
That means something I posted on January 7th 2016 (when I started this account) still has earning potential here.
And while I am not here for the money really, I am more than happy to receive all myLot wants to give me.
Heck, I could stop using myLot right this minute...and I would still get the occasional hundredth of a cent thrown at me as long as my actions were still visible here and I wasn't banned.
So I leave my old discussions intact...someday, I may actually get that Lear jet...
Part of the reason I am pointing this out....I see people say "I interacted for a few hours and my bank hardly moved".
Actually, what you did was create potentials to receive interaction...which can occur at any time after you made the action you created.
Even, theoretically, years from now.
People are strange, and life is weird.
Something you did today (or yesterday, or last year) may suddenly become the hottest topic on myLot and everyone can't wait to jump in with their opinion.
But they can't do it if you deleted it.
Okay...I'll shut up now.

This is true. I've had a couple of interactions from 2016 discussions recently. Thanks to whomever was that bored.
Plus, think of all the calories you spent typing the original discussion!!!

I have removed a few before that were 'outdated', but those were dealing with myLot and things had changed

It happens almost every day to receive a comment on very old discussions. I do not write often, but I never delete my discussions once they are posted. My Bank moves more while I sleep, when US users are active and they reply to the comments I left during my working hours.

I delete the occasional one, but that is seldom done and it is usually something I probably shouldn't have posted to start with...not that it violates any guidelines, but it might stir up more trouble.

@JolietJake I see what you mean. In this case it's a good idea to delete them.

Sadly
I had my oldest topics deleted, thinking that it would be better to make a revised and improved one
I can`t get it back anyways
I just let my new discussions there
Thank you for letting me understand the importance of keeping my discussions here

For a little bit, I was occasionally deleting an older discussion (a year or so old) that didn't have much activity and re-posting it, but Alex said that really wasn't a good idea to do, and it seems if I re-write something it never comes out as good as the original.

I don't delete my old discussions (can't be bothered and wouldn't know how to do it anyway) and as JJ said, sometimes someone will pick up an old discussion and *bing!* another centimal in your account. It's happened to me.

The one good thing is at least if you delete them it doesn't affect what you have already earned. I think most of us kind of forget some of them even exist.

For those here to earn, that can add up in the long run

Yeah, I leave all of mine as well. Even if I wanted to delete them, I'm much too lazy for that!

I leave mine up because from time to time someone will comment on an old one and it will spark a new conversation which earns a couple pennies.

Exactly. Everything remains a chance to potentially earn.

@BabeSays No. Deleting a post, as I said, has no effect on earnings.

@JolietJake But what if I made a post and earned from it but after 4 days I delete it. Does the earning gets erased?

I deleted 3 discussions until now. Last time I told the reader that the discussion would be quickly removed : I was just asking for a feedback that I needed at the moment about a business, and among the responders only one gave really a feedback...
