Not Sure What To Think

I think that anything/one can go too far. That being said I have been watching interviews with Rose McGowan, the star who has come out very militant(I think) toward her alleged raper, and the hypocrisy of Hollywood. This supposed rape happened over twenty years ago. She tried to have something done about it but was never vendicated and people pretty much laughed her out of their offices. She ended up getting $100,000 and she took it cause she was pretty much black balled and couldn't work for a long time due to her trying to get him charged. Harvy Weinstein is the man. So she is fighting back and has a new book out about her experience called "Brave". She also has started a movement called "Rose Army". (Not her name, but the flower.) She also has a reality show on E! called "Citizen Rose". I have watched this and feel she is a bit dramatic but, how can I say. I have never had this happen to me. What do you think? I think that these 85 women who have come out and accused this monster(as Rose calls him) of rape are very brave. I think that Rose is a little over the top with her speaking out and some of the things she says.

I back her mostly although I have not read her recent interviews. So many women and men are coming out, outraged that it went on so long. Meanwhile, the rumors about him for 20 years abounded, and even Oprah and Meryl Streep overlooked them. Those two women are people than everyone listens too. Suddenly more famous women accuse him, and they are vocal about condemning him. Powerful men would listen to powerful women. For heaven's sake, Hollywood loves Hillary Clinton! But she too dismissed those claims. If I were her I would be struggling with rage and resentment. That's not healthy, and it's not good for her, but neither was her past experiences. There is one thing about the accusations I have never understood. Asia Argento said she was raped twice by Weinstein, on two separate occasions. And I believe her. But why would you go near him ever again after the first assault?

When 85 women accuse the same man I think it is hard to wonder what he did. She seems to be struggling with those things. Asia probably went back around him because he was a powerful producer and you went where the work was.

It is great and important that she is making a stand as is Uma Thurman regarding Weinstein, especially with Donald Trump barely fased by similar accusations despite virtually admitting to it at times

@celticeagle I generally find the more negative interpretations of events around him are more likely to be the accurate ones

No one would listen to her. She was black balled when she tried to tell.

I admire all these women who are taking a stand and it's a shame that it's taken so long to be public. Can't say, though, that I'm surprised that all this went on in Hollywood

No, I wasn't surprised. Had heard stories. Now I know most were probably true.

I have heard brief things about the Harvey Weinstein issues going on, but had no idea about Rose McGowan. It's a crying shame that all this went on in Hollywood, and that it was the culture of the industry. What gets me even worse is that we continue to idolize all these Hollywood icons as if they walked on water. I'm hoping that all this comes to the forefront and we re-examine how we view Hollywood and all it's players.

I remember reading on the internet news that if anyone who gets raped decides to go the police and report the rape without any solid proof of what happened, it could be called a false report or fear of being blackballed by the entertainment industry for being a tattle tale.

@celticeagle That is true since the powerful people are protected by their owners.

i think she is kind of getting carried away with revenge . it does seem like so many are coming out with these kind of claims that soon we will have very few famous people to watch in any place.

I don't know if there are anymore evidence that would prove the rape case, I mean why wait that long? unless there's a CCTV recording.

Rose tried to tell people and they wouldn't listen. She was pretty much black balled for saying something.

Like you I really don't know what to think about her. I saw her on the Colbert show and it was hard to watch, She appeared to be either seriously impaired or in an alternate reality. As a result I have to take her story with a grain of salt. I do support the other women though.

Nothing anyone says about Weinstein can be too bad. He has been a monster. Uma Thurman has come out with more charges on him.

I don't know who she is, and haven't heard anything about it, so have no comments about it.
