stocking up my freezer

Safeway has been having a fantastic deal on ground beef this week -- 99 cents a pound! 
This is the mega pack of 80/20 beef (a little bit fattier than I'd prefer, but I'll be patient and drain off fat for 99 cents a pound) which is on sale for $2.99/lb, but there's a coupon in the store flyer that lets you get 1 package for the 99 cents/lb price when you buy an additional $10 worth of items.
The really nice thing is you can do this deal more than once, just once per shopping trip. We've been going to the store daily, grabbing the biggest pack of ground beef I can find, and getting other items we need (a gallon of milk, loaf of bread, carton of eggs... it doesn't take long to add up to $10) instead of just one big shopping trip this week.

@spiderdust I've been buying a lot of ground turkey on last-day sale just because it is so much cheaper than ground beef.

@NJChicaa Ground turkey used to be cheaper, but lately it's around $3/lb! I can't find the frozen chubs anywhere.

I've got between 6-10 people at a time for dinner, depending on if my adult daughter is staying with us and/or the stepkids are here. 2 lbs makes a lot of meat sauce for spaghetti!

I prefer to buy that kind too. I can get it from Zaycon for $3.99/lb, but then I have to buy 40 pounds at once.

@spiderdust that's a lot of meat. But I'm sure you guys would use it. Lol. I only buy it every once and awhile and only a pound or two at a time. We don't eat a lot of it.

We only ever buy 80/20, but hardly ever use the value packs. Though for the 99cents a pound sale, we'd get least one or two packs.
When our stoes say limit one, we always do seperate transactions. Especially since we go to self checkout. No need to make more than one trip lol
