The popular (not so much) and raising (may be not) Paid to post site Forum For U unannounced reset minimum character limit for 400 character for any post to be posted in the forum.
When frustrated users objected this in other sites, FFU Admin himself send message that reads as follows -
"From past few months many users are making too much short threads/posts to earn point and most of their contents are useless. For this reason we have increased the minimum posting character limit from 100 to 400. This mean you will need to have minimum 400 character in your threads or posts to get paid. If you will try to cheat us by using the quote/reply to increase character count then you will get warning or you will be banned."
Ok I understand people were using useless posts, and also using quote/reply to increase character count; but then Admin could have removed the quote/reply button and not to compromice Quality over quantity because this 400 character will force users to make garbage posts. Yet he has refused to remove this limit.
400 characters in Postloop/TheForumWheel can earn you 10 cents, so why someone would be willing to post for 1 or 2 cent?
This has disappointed all FFU users, already there were few left, now hardly anyone will be there.

You could view what Admin did on the site in this way, Yugocean... Admin owns the site. If you don't like how he is running his site, you can quit the site. Or you can make your own site and run it the way you believe is best.
If everyone stops using the site, maybe the owner will change his rules? Or he will close the site down.

@kaka135 When I join a site, I expect the owner will have rules in place because he wants them in place. I don't suggest he should change the rules to meet my expectations. (I think it is rude for the members of a site to expect the owner to change things to suit them. He bought it, he should be able to run it the way he feels is best without anyone else giving him problems over it.)
I agree. Hopefully, the owner can continue to make enough money from the site to keep it up and running. If that means he has to set new rules, then good luck to him!

@yugocean I hope the site stays open and profitable enough for you to cash out, Yugocean. If you continue to use the site after you cash out, then I wish you good luck. (It sounds as if the site may be in it's final days. That is just my opinion. Okay?)

So, that's the new rule and the admin has even responded to it. I think it's fair if he increased the character limit to 150, but 400 seems to be too much. I joined the forum, but I am not active there, as I am busy with other sites, and charging the 10% fee is discouraging. With this new rule, I know I am not going to work on the forum.

@yugocean Was close to trying it. I visited the page but it looked too cluttery for me to want to waste my time on there. I might one day.

@yugocean That's definitely a potential consequence of them doing that. I do hope the opposite happens. By the way, I tried postloop and realized that I was a member from years and years ago. I can't work out what to do there though.

But with a minimum of 100 people were reaching it. I think 100 to 400 jump is quite high, a reasonable would be maybe 200. But it is the admin rules and people would have to obey it. If a lot of people leave, admin may reconsider or it could be a win/win for those who obey the rules.

@yugocean Do they at least have the pop up indication in the comment section box saying how many characters you wrote so far?

I never heard of that site. But I did try to do postloop and they banned me because I didn't reach their word limit. Sometimes you can't do that.

I think the point is, even if we use quote to reply, we should keep in mind that quoted comments are not to be included in the characters we type. I think the Admin is only protecting his site.
