Am I Getting Bored?

I have been online trying to earn money for many years now. And many sites have jumped the shark. LOL. Well, you know what I mean. They all went into internet heaven. But MyLot, well, they have been here a long time and proved themselves to be an awesome site to not only have fun, but to earn a little money as well. But lately I find myself sidetracked. I know I have some things going on in my personal like and I also know that those things can hinder the time I spend online. And also affect my mind.
But I do feel as is I am getting bored. Not really with being online but in general. So my concentration has been way off. I try and sit and try to write a post. Sometimes I succeed and others I give up. Writing a basic post like this one is pretty easy. But I want to get my mojo back for writing my little micro short stories and my poems. But it seems my feelings and my emotions are not where they used to be. And I dwindling down from that? Have I run out of ideas? Maybe. But like I said, things that are going on in my life right now are definitely hindering my thought process.
I have been feeling uneasy. I have been having issues withy significant other. And I also know that is cutting deep into me at the moment. I try to divert myself by trying to sit an write something. But when I do my mind just goes off in a totally different direction. I am also trying to take the emotions I am feeling currently and work them into something. But that is just not happening for me. I am hoping that over time, if things get better in my mind that I will be able to get back to where I was. Anyway, that’s really all I have to write for now.

When I was a teen and felt depressed that was when I wrote my best poems although they were usually quite morbid! I think we all get bored online now and then and take a break. We don't earn much here I'm mostly here for the social interaction.

I have done that in the past. And I have many poems that are very dark. Some I am sure I posted here over time. I remember when my marriage broke up, it wasn't easy for me. But music and writing got me through it. But now, it seems to be real different for me.

@shaggin See, so I am no stranger to that. But you know that time time is different for me. Look, you also know I would do almost anything for her. But one thing, that you know, does not sit right with me. I don't want to turn on her or become nasty. So I tend to turn to being spiteful instead. I need to take a step back and let the rope be taken. Then I can make a move.

I can tell that the significant other "issue" is really something big on your shoulders right now. I think until things are out in the open (whatever she is withholding), this feeling is going to stay there. I don't think it's a boredom thing - I think it's more that your heart and mind are focused on some question mark right now. It's like having a splinter you can't see . . . you know it's there because you definitely feel it, but because you don't see it, so you can't get it out. As I always say, I hope things can get resolved so you can move on . . . so you can get back to your ol' self again.

You know you actually nailed it on the head. Yes it is weighing on my mind right now. I have many unanswered questions. And she is not willing to open up and tell me any of it. As I said before to someone else, she basically told me that what happened in her past is none of my business. And also told me she will never tell anyone the things she had done. Now I know whatever happened before us should not be an issue. But lately she seems to be treating her brother in law way better than me. So I am thinking that whatever happened in her past might have something to do with that as well. Look, if I do not get any satisfaction with this I am going to have to move on. But the feelings I have for her are deep. We have been together now nine years. That is a long time.

I think this restless boredom also goes with the reluctant departure of winter. I do not doubt that your mind is constantly on the significant other, as well. Take a break if you need it, or find a hobby for a diversion.

I have been looking and trying to divert myself and my thoughts. But I keep coming back to the same old thing. I thank everyone here for their comments and opinions. Having people react to a post like this is very important. This always helps me process information better.

Sometimes we can all get to feel like that.
I was not going to be on here much today but I have come back for moment to relax and take a break from everything else that is going on around me.
I need my space too.

I come here when I am bored, but I also leave a lot. Usually because I'm angry. Still, this site is a distraction from work, and not work itself.

Maybe you just need a break and figure out your life & work on you and your relationship for the time being. When there is too much on our mind we tend to forget about the important things and I too find myself not able to write when this happens. Whatever funk your in i hope it passes soon. This site we'll always be here so take a break and come back when you feel like your mind is at ease.

Well, it's not the site. And I do understand what you mean. But sometimes being here is the only thing that keeps me sane. I am working on things in my head, I am also in therapy for other issues, but I did bring this up as well. I also need to get back into listening to music. That usually works for me.

@wongchoiyee I can try that. But I also have things to do around the house. I also asked my girlfriend to go to dinner with me to a nice local Italian restaurant. She said maybe. Either way I do need to get out.

Hi Stranger. I hope things has settled down since you wrote this post. Maybe if you just try to write posts like this one or funny little stories you could get back to writing like you used to. I know it is hard but you can do it. Maybe a new hobby would help. Keep in touch.

@inertia4 Hi, it is good to hear from you. I'm glad to hear that things are settling down some for you.I was away for awhile and there are still times that I am not here for days. I am like you, I have personal things that needs taken care of. Music is good for people. I like to turn youtube on and listen to the oldies of all types. I have been watching my granddaughter for the past 2 1/2 months. I enjoy being with her but most days I am wiped out when I leave to go home. I have also been very busy with my plants. My son talked me into putting them on some sites on facebook and they have been selling real good. I need to find another source for clippings cause my plants are starting to look a little bare. Yes, let's do keep in touch.

@velvet53 That does sound like being busy to me. Nice!!! Yeah, kids can wipe you out for sure. My kids now only come to me once a month. The ex moved further away now. So they have to come in by bus into the city. And besides they are teenagers now and they want to do different things. I wish I could find something to sell online and make a few extra dollars. Well, yes, we do need to keep in touch. You are a wonderful friend. Thanks for being my friend.

Hey there. Long time no see. Yeah, things are getting more settled. But I am still at a loss of what to write about. I am hoping I can spark something soon. I have been somewhat preoccupied with some personal issues. So my mind has not really been on writing. Lately though I have been more consumed with music. I used to called vinyl records back in the day then CD's. Now I mostly stream. But my son got into vinyl, he thinks its cool. So I started slowly getting back into buying records and CD's. And I have been finding awesome rock bands on Apple music as well as the Vinyl Community on YouTube. But I do miss writing here and one other site. Although I am not sure of that other site will make it. I think maybe our choices of sites to write with have dwindled and MyLot is the only legit and stable one left. Either way, I am doing okay, nothing currently to complain about. How are you? I hope things are good with you. Lets keep in touch more.

Dear Steven, now that explains why I haven't seen you here but I think the last discussion I read from you also talked about having some sort of a problem with your significant other.
Sometimes, we face a lot of distractions that can keep us away from what we used to do or even enjoy. There was a time when I felt similar to that. I was bored, I was having a terrible time coping up with my broken heart, I was fed up with too many things. But I bounced back.
So I am hopeful that you will too. You will bounce back and you will find that inspiration to write again, to do what you enjoy doing, and have that fun in your life back.

@inertia4 That's cool, think he realizes how cool it was in way. We as kids could venture out in the world without parents worrying to much and learn things ourselves. I remember getting frostbite or close to it getting lost in the woods of Missouri Best experience ever and told no one or never could go back.

@crossbones27 I hear you. I used to sneak out of my house and hang out with friends until the next day. I would sometimes come stumbling in around 10 or 11 the next morning. And no one knew I was out. LOL. We all did crazy stuff when we were young. And I guess for me the music keeps me young and thinking that way.

Cool, thanks. I appreciate that. Yeah I do need to come on here more. And I also need to get more back into vinyl and CD's like I used to. My son is way into vinyl now and loves it. I guess he sees it as cool. He even told me once that he feels he should have been born years ago and lived in the 70's and 80's. He is into basically all the rock bands I was and still am into.

Thank you. Things have gotten better and I am feeling better. I had an issue with my girlfriend and so far that seems to have been taken care of. As for my lack of writing, I guess I have other things on my mind. And I also suffer from depression. And I am sure that adds to it all.

@sallypup I try that from time to time. But sometimes I will write something and then just stop mid way through. And never go back to it again. And if I do, I am bored with it. Maybe I feel that I have to make everything I write perfect. That could be it as well.

It happens to all of us from time to time. Even some of the most prolific writers sometimes lose their mojo for a bit. In some ways, and while some of it IS attributed to becoming sidetracked and distracted by other things, these "blocks" or periods of disinterest are actually our brains way of sort of recharging. When we finally pull out of it we find we are back on track and then some, and sometimes better than we were before.

I agree with that. But lately for me I have not been able to really focus on writing a post. I do have the ideas in my head, many of them. But getting them written down it where the problem is coming from. And I never really had that problem before. I have been listening to music more, clearing my head. So hopefully that will be what opens the flood gates in my brain.

@inertia4 One exercise that works well is to just write about anything. You don't have to have intent to post it. Just write. It frees the mind, and lets the juices flow. If you go into writer's block with the idea that you do not have to share anything, it sometimes helps. "The sun came up this morning, It was bright and it was orange and it was beautiful. I long for the warmth it provides and the light." It seems mundane, stupid, but if you just write, you will find that your mind opens up and the words will flow. When the time is right, you will have something worthy of sharing.

It's easy to lose motivation if you have important things going on in your life. No one could blame you if you took a break to sort out your personal issues and maybe come back refreshed when things are easier.

I find that I have to be in a positive mood to write. When I'm not, I tend to be quite cynical, which for me is not a good time to write and hope to gain any new friends!
