Diary Friday 9th March 2018
The first of two very quiet days for me, rare on a Friday, but after a week of getting up early for various job search activities and voluntary work assignments, a couple of days doing as little as possible was good for me.
Diary Saturday 10th March 2018
As yesterday along with obligatory job searching through the library, completing my latest book reviews for another website, one that lets me keep the books sent to me for reviewing, often in pre-publication editions.
Diary Sunday 11th March 2018
It is Mother’s Day, or Mothering Sunday in the UK. I know some countries have it on different dates. I sent my mum a card a few days ago, which she received in plenty of time, and I phoned her this morning to wish her a happy Mother’s Day too.
In the afternoon I was invited to attend an amateur film festival in Burnley. The film making group I belong to in Preston failed to send our productions in on time or a film I helped write and make would have been in the competition too. (though unlikely to win given the high standard of entries involved).
There was a lovely buffet laid on for everyone half way through the festival. I’ll review the twelve short films screened in a future post.
Thanks to Roy Logsdon for inviting me and giving me a lift to and from Burnley for this lovely event.

@LadyDuck it is confusing - I see someone refer to Mother's Day and panic thinking I forget my mum until I realize it's not the UK Mother's Day

@arthurchappell I have never understood because Father's Day and Mother's Day are not on the same date through the different countries.
