Where to Have a Birthday Party

I've been discussing my daughter's birthday party with my wife. I still have nothing on mind.My wife suggested having a garden party at the backyard. We cannot decide where to have it though. We have to ask our daughter if she has already had something on mind.
My wife called her downstairs and discussed it with her. She said she'd want to invite all of her classmates. When I mentioned to her about the garden party at the backyard, she seemed to disagree to that. She kept mentioning about some of her friends always having birthday parties at the Pizza Hut, so I concluded that she also want to have her party there.
As parents we don't want to disappoint our daughter. We are conscious that having a party at Pizza Hut will burn a hole in your pocket.

I understand you do not want to disappoint your daughter, but she must know that this is a too big sacrifice for you. Discuss with her and explain that she has to reduce the number of friends to invite if she wants a party at the Pizza Hut. Children must learn that they cannot have everything.

maybe ask her how many classmates she plans to invite. then drop by at pizza hut and ask if they have any promotions or deals for birthdays or for large numbers of people.

Around 18 people. That would be too expensive for us, actually.

@yanzalong then have the pizzas delivered to your house. then make your own drinks, desserts and snacks to go with it.

@yanzalong It is just my opinion, my friend. I am more on the practical side.

It's tricky isn't it? Everyone wants to please a child on their birthday and the child usually wants what everyone else is having. Can you have something a bit special just for a couple of close friends - a movie then Pizza Hut perhaps? I wish you luck with whatever you plan.

It's a good idea, I am sure but inviting a few friends would be difficult for her.

If you can afford Pizza Hut, the party should be there. If you can't, I think you can make a gorgeous garden party.

I only have one child and I always try to fulfil his wish as to what he would want on his birthday including a party. I always feel guilty if I couldn't give him that as that happens only once a year.
This Wednesday is his birthday and we do plan to celebrate it at a hotel. But not sure yet. But the thing is, we can afford to have an expensive party.
What about a birthday party in the garden, and some Pizza Hut take out including other food?

I understand that Toni how much you love your only son. I'd do the same if I had one only.

Check the visitors. Restaurant would be a good venue or garden party would be nice since you don't rent the place.

Our garden can be less expensive, which is why my wife suggested having it there.

Limiting number of friends would be too difficult and this would annoy the others not invited.
