Don't understand this reasoning for not eating meat

If people don't eat certain types of meat because of religious reasons or health reasons that is understandable. What I find hard to understand is when someone doesn't eat certain meat because they claim the animals the meat comes from have a heart, have feelings, etc. What about the meat from animals they do eat? Don't those animals have feelings and hearts too? What makes the animals they do eat different from those they don't?

These are people who are just being selective and picky with what meat to eat. No rhyme or reason whatsoever.

@lovebuglena like what I wrote. No reason at all, just people being picky eaters.

There are people who will eat chicken or maybe turkey and no other meat. What's the reasoning for that?

I don’t think religion prohibits eating certain meat because animals have feelings. From the religious perspective the meat of some animals is prohibited if they weren’t slaughtered in a proper way.

I agree with you. I don't eat pork and it's because I am Jewish. But I only started doing that when I met my husband. I used to eat pork before that.

@Madshadi Perhaps. But nothing wrong with eating it in moderation I think.

All animals feel emotions in varying degrees. There are some funny viewpoints around.
