Sticky Shift Key

What's been driving me crazy the past few weeks is the sticky SHIFT key on my laptop. My cat accidentally knocked over my coffee a few weeks ago and it spilled onto my keyboard. It wasn't a big problem, I cleaned it up quickly but one key was affected - the SHIFT key and I can't get rid of the stickiness. It is so annoying, I'm not sure what to do....

I don't know what could help, you would need to remove the key and clean there, I guess it's the coffee under that now bothers you. At least the key still works, doesn't it?

@tzwrites Does the right shift key have the same properties? You might have to get used to it in the meanwhile. I kept a laptop whose N key didn't work at all, for a while. Improvise. Adapt. Overcome.

It is the only way to remove what is causing the problem.

It's time to buy a new one, before malfunctioned keys affect what ever your doing on your computer.

Worse case scenario get a wireless keyboard. Or use the digital keyboard on your screen.

Did you remove each keys? Dry the board under the sun then stick the keys back

You do need to remove the key to fix it, it snaps right back in. If you are afraid then tale it to a computer repair shop, they can do it

I'm a novice at things like that too, and I'm glad Anna was able to help you.
