One of The Things That is Helping My Anxiety

I really didn't want to do it because I couldn't see any purpose or how it could possibly help to make me feel better, but since it would only take a couple of minutes, I thought that I would try it for a month, just so I could say that I tried. It's called doodling. Well it has now been 153 days and you would not believe how many little squares of paper I have saved and dated with all of my doodles. Each and every one of them is different and on the back of each, I even wrote down how I was feeling. It's odd how you can look at each little piece of "art work" and know exactly what kind of mood I was in. And, the odd part, I'm really enjoying it and I just finished another one today! Any doodlers out there??

I have not doodled in ages but I do like to draw and color and I know it is always a relaxing activity.

I haven't tried doodling but whenever I feel anxious I tried to overcome it by distractions. You have to choose activities that require your attention to occupy your mind. For me cooking or simply cleaning the house makes me calm. You can play some digital games or solve puzzles, whatever interest you.

It's funny, how something quite unexpected, turns into a habit. I never doodled before I started just recently!

Not a doodler myself, but at the end of the day anything that takes your mind off your troubles and woes can only be something healthier than being worried about something all day. Doodle on. As for me, I like to write of course, and I enjoy playing my guitar. Relaxes me...unless I happen to be writing about politics which is generally the theme of my main blog. Oh well. Can't win them all I guess.

It's always good that those doodles help. I'll admit that I don't really doodle much, although I do like to colour.

I'm glad your doodling is helping with your anxiety. I'm not much of a doodler

I see how that can help definitely - even though I don't doodle. I find doing my art and creating nice things very relaxing.
