In The Dark

Yesterday was a trying day.
The power was out for three and a half hours in the morning.
In the afternoon, I went to watch my grandchildren perform in the homeschooling spring program. (I was the proud grandma
)
When I returned home, the power had been out for yet another hour....and this was all before the promised ice storm arrived.
I actually arrived home about five minutes after the freezing rain began at our house, but had played keep away with the storm for the drive home.
In the morning, while sitting in the dark, I managed to pack a few boxes.....and to finish this quilted wall hanging.
Thank you @platespinner and daughter for arranging to have the lighthouse in my mailbox.

The freezing rain is on the edge of changing to rain. By afternoon we expect heavy rain.

We were fortunate. The storm was just a bit farther north than where we are. We had a bit of freezing rain...ice pellets and the some more freezing rain...but not enough to bring down a lot of tree limbs.
The wind was nasty though. We never lost our power once the storm arrived.

The quilted wall hanging surely would brighten up the room. What filthy weather over there! on top of power cut.

That's quite a pretty hanging.
We have not lost our power, but we have had a lot of freezing rain.
The rain froze yesterday morning and we had freezing rain for the remainder of the day.
This morning we have had freezing rain on and off and really strong heavy winds.
Its a wonderful day to stay in today.

Staying in....church was cancelled. The freezing rain is changing over to rain. Later this afternoon I need to head to St Catharines.

We escaped the brunt of the freezing rain. Mostly just ice pellets. Others were not so lucky.
We also never lost our power once the storm actually arrived..
Thank you, I'm looking forward to hanging the wall hanging in my new kitchen later this week.

I love all your quilts but am particularly fond of this one (I love lighthouses)
I'm sick of winter but sounds like it's worse there than here.

Thank you.
Like you I'm so done with winter. Yesterday and today it looks like spring may finally have arrived...still quite cool but the sun is shining and the sky is blue.

Beautiful quilt! That ice storm was a doozy, thankfully today it’s warmed up and it’s melting. I felt bad about the birds, nothing to eat but ice...

@Morleyhunt I am so happy that tomorrow the temps will go up and that dam white stuff will go away. I live on the escarpment and all water goes down the mountain...thankfully.

The ice may have melted, but it is such a soppy, soggy mess with the ongoing rain and wet snow.
Getting out to my garden shed to finish packing is virtually impossible.....maybe pontoons?

Thank you. I was glad to be home safe when the worst of the storm arrived. We were also fortunate that the power stayed on .

@Morleyhunt So lucky you didn't lose power, I hate when the electricity goes out. The house we live in is pitch black and you can't see a thing in here.

Nothing like an ice storm when getting ready for a move. Just what I wanted to make my life simple.

Hi Morley. Is that the same quilt as the last time you posted or is it a different one? I remember because of the lighthouse. As always, it is beautiful.
