The Filipinos call it Santan

Ixora, what Filipinos call Santan comes in many colurs. We have several of them. They are hardy plants requiring little maintenance. They come in two sizes and we have both.
Orange is a common colour while red is rare. Being perennial they do not need replanting. The older the plant, larger are the flowers.

Yes we call it santan, we use to have a lot but they are gone now, I know how to extract and eat the sweet nectar from the flowers, I use to do that when I was a kid.

@allknowing yeah when we built an extension, they are easy to propagate, the only thing wasps and bees love to build their hives there, I once got stung going near a thick shrub.

Here in Kerala,this flower is commonly used in all temples.Even at home many use Ixora flowers for worship.

Same here but some users here have called it as Santan, here. I checked on the Net as well.

@allknowing I wasn't being critical. I understand the problem. Anything that I think might be Strine (Australian) I've started putting the translation in brackets as well. Sometimes I don't know it's Strine till someone queries it.
