Our caravan awning has been replaced and the Ikea wardrobe is complete

Today started a bit badly but now we’ve knocked off the night and all is well. We were up bright and early as we needed to have the caravan at the repair place by 9am. However when Vince went out to start the car, the engine would turn over but it wouldn’t start. So we rang for a mechanic and told the repair place what was happening. However before the mechanic arrived Vince had been on the internet and with YouTube helped he was able to reset the computer and so we cancelled the Roadside Assist man. We were less than an hour late getting the caravan to town and it is now home again with its new awning and soon we’ll be going to bed between our nice warm fleecy sheets. The photo is taken from the other end of our Ikea wardrobes. I can’t get it all in one frame. You can see two mirrored doors at the far end then there is a section without a door then two more doors at the near end. The last door took us a long time to hang yesterday but it is done now and we’re super pleased. I’m expecting Vince to keep his clothes tidy now.

From what the picture shows, there's lots of storage there now, I love Ikea products for that.

It's wonderful to have so much storage and I've done a major purge of clothes I rarely wear so it all looks very tidy at the moment. I wonder how long it will stay like that.

@JudyEv - Ha ha! I saw on our local news that a college guy has started a small business to pay his way through college. He charges $20 an hour to send college kids to your home to do small jobs for you, like helping with your computer problems, hanging pictures, rearranging furniture or putting together IKEA furniture. The students make $15 an hour and the guy who started the business keeps the difference. I think he is brilliant! I would happily pay $20 an hour the next time we buy something from IKEA!

Thanks. Our son has his eye on a few Ikea products for when we get there. I guess we'll be helping assemble them.

@DeborahDiane I know many 'grown-ups' who could use a clever young person to program mobile phones, VCRs etc. Vince was having troubling just answering his mobile and went looking for 'someone young' to tell him how to do it.

@cintol Once we worked out what we were doing wrong it wasn't nearly so hard. A new set of 4 mirrors cost $55 which seemed quite reasonable too.

It's nice to have it fully finished that's for sure. It's always in the background otherwise that you still have to do it - and having broken three mirrors we were a bit tentative in tackling the last door.

oH nice closet! I'm happy Vince got it figured out about the car. Does the garage come to you over there? That's cool.

@FayeHazel The car played up again today so we're staying home now till we get the problems sorted. We thought we'd have to be towed home but luckily it didn't quite come to that.

@JudyEv Wow. Nice. I have roadside plan. For certain things they'll come out , but mostly they tow you to your garage of choice.

@JudyEv Since I avoid all that sort of "work," it never occurred to me. If I must get my hands soiled I do put on "yard jeans" and old flannel shirt.

Haha. You figured very wrong there James! I am continually at him to change his 'good' clothes before he goes off doing odd jobs or 'work'. He has no conception of how difficult it can be to keep good clothes clean if he persists in wearing them chopping wood or changing oil or whatever.

It looks very nice. I'm sorry the car wouldn't start this morning. Glad he figured it out without roadside assist. Have a good trip in your new outfitted caravan. You think he's going to be neat now, after all these years? Maybe for a couple days until the newness wears off.

@JudyEv And the actual purpose for the computerized system, so we can't fix it ourselves! We are forced to use an expensive auto technician

@JudyEv You need to start early for that. I met a couple of gypsies who bought a plot of land and built a house to retire (they were market traders) and never managed to get used to the house, they were living in their caravan in the garden.
