Four Hours of Darkness

Hello everyone. It is nice to experience light after darkness, as the title said, we just experience four hours of total darkness with no power. It started with the unexpecyed rain with rolls of thunder and lightning. Then a loud thud abd ka-boom, power no more. It was so hard because it was supposed to be the bed time of the kids and yet they cannot sleep because of the humidity and heat. Four excruciating hours that my arms hurt because me and my husband need to produce wind for them. Now, I am still up. Have you experience this?

yes, here in our place, when we have a very heavy downpour coupled with flashes of lightning and roars of thunder, power interruption follows next.i believe it may be because some trees might have fallen across the electricity wires, or it can be switched off the the electric cooperative to protect further fire hazards

Here, the switch on the transformer gave way as the neighbors said it. It also happened before. But that time, it took Meralco 2 hours to fix it but now whole 4 hours

@rakski here, sometimes it is the transformer that cannot handle the large loads of electricity.

Yes, we did but that was back when I was in college. We had to exhaust all our powers to be able to fan ourselves. It was hell.

It is awful when that happens after a hurricane - one can be without power for several nights. We are always prepared with candles , lamps and flashlights.
