I gave up

It is being very hot during the day. We have a/c in each bedroom. I gave up and turned on the air conditioner in our bedroom so we can sleep tonight. The temperature was 94F today. In the past I could hold off until it reached 100. I must be getting old.

I am still going through the change of life for women and need the cool air at night, even during the winter to stay comfortable and sleep well. Extreme heat leaves me exhausted during the day.

We are in a place where we pay for heat in the winter and cool in the summer both. Not very temperate

Heat can be a terrible thing, I would have the A/C on too.

It is not hot in our place now. It will be very hot next week. In very hot weather, our air conditioner is on for almost 24 hours.

When I had central air conditioning it would be more like that. That was when we lived in a different place.

You know I am so looking forward to returning to the states that even hot summers could not scare me away. This winter in Latvia plunged us into a deep freeze with temps at -20 below for at least two whole weeks. I thought I would not make it. Now I look forward to Florida and really warming my bones. Hope the temps get more comfortable for you.

We broke records here too with temps reaching 92 here. I turned on my ceiling fan last night and had my window open.

I do not think we broke any records, but it was very hot. We had been under air conditioning in the office where we trained, in the car, and in the cabin, so we were too used to it. I have ceiling fans on, windows opened, etc. but I really needed cool to sleep.

@GardenGerty We've broken records the whole weekend. Our predicted 92 for today, also a record breaker, is now at 95.

94F is hot. I'd be turning the AC on too. Here it is cold at night and we've been putting on the heater in the evenings. It is only a fairly small area in the caravan and warms up quickly.

The bedrooms are small and we only cool them when we are in them. If they are not warm enough in the winter we use an extra space heater. We have heated mattress pads too.

@GardenGerty We don't have any heating if we are not in a park and can't connect to power. We'll just have to put on lots of jumpers or else go to bed.

LOL. It was 96 here today and I have used my air for 6 weeks now. While I love it hot and summertime I do like sleeping with the a/c on, the temp I keep mine at is 78, if Tony needs it cooler I will turn it down.

With the air conditioners being in the separate rooms we can really control how much we cool. Bedroom air is only on about ten hours if that much and it is on 72, but I only run fans around the rest of the house mostly.

On certain hot days, I have no choice but to turn on the aircon or my laptop won't function either. Hope the bill is not going to bad for you. (I checked, and ours were not too bad those times I turned on the aircon.)

The way we do this our bill stays pretty manageable. I know I need to move my "office" into one of the bedrooms for the sake of the computer.

@GardenGerty (using a fan is not bad either to reduce the heat. But I have to admit, on certain hot days, enough is enough!)

Yeah, the air has been running for us non-stop for the past two weeks. It is what it is.
