Not my type.

Quite often you will hear someone dismiss a potential friendship with the declaration - he is not my type or she is not my type - yet shortly thereafter - those two are a couple.
Has that ever happened to you ? - becoming romantically involved with someone who at first you did not consider to be your type? We know that opposites do attract, but would you think of having a permanent relationship with someone who has different likes and dislikes, different beliefs, hobbies etc. A couple who live near us have been married for little over twenty years and they support different political parties.
What kind of person would be your type? If you have already found him or her - what was it that first attracted you to that person ?

My wife and I have differences in many things like she doesn't think I am good for kitchen but we go well. I mean we generally don't fight and even if we do we patch up before things reach to a breaking point. I know who is my type within first few minutes when I meet them and talk to them.

I don't think I ever had a "type" it was always who I was attracted to. I guess the one think I looked for is someone tall, so opposites do attract as I am quite short.

Someone from a good family, healthy, tall dark and handsome, having a good job, having the right age yes. I found all that in my husband. Love developed slowly after marriage. .

Although it hasn't happened to me I have seen it happen to others when I was still working.
I have always been attracted by good looking men but I never seem to strike up a friendship with them, mostly because good looking men are narcissistic

What kind of person is my type? It would be a person that sincerely loves God and their neighbour. Yes, I have found many persons like that.

Actually, my husband is not at all my type, he is short and dark-haired and I have always preferred tall lighter haired men, love is a very strange thing lol

Anne and I are opposites in many ways, but thankfully agree on politics. I was attracted to her first by her sense of humor and her intellect. We met online and had a lot of conversations before meeting in person.

I think too many people concentrate too much on their 'type,' and as a result miss out on what may have been solid relationships while instead choosing bad ones. I say just go with the flow and don't worry about the small stuff. Especially physical attraction. If beautiful people, for example, were the key to long lasting relationships, Hollywood would have the highest rate of longevity in marriage. In fact, they have the shortest.
