Hello everyone.
My sister-in-law gave us some board games the other day so yesterday, me and hubby decided to teach our kids to play scrabble.
Not all the youngsters nowadays still play this. They might be playing wordscapes, word puzzles and other word games but most of these are all in their phones or gadgets. It is nice to know that my daughter enjoyed playing the game and later she told me this morning, that we have to play again.
Did you play scrabble when you were young?
Do you still play it now?

I remember playing that board game back when I was really just a small kid and couldn't read. But how the hell were I able to play it. I have four siblings who could and my father who was really into it. I was allowed to join in on the fun!
These days, we don't play them anymore. My son is into online gaming so it's ether he's on his phone or playing his PS4. The only time we can really have fun together is when we go on a trip or watch the NBA games.

@rakski When my son was younger we enjoyed monopoly and other board games. But now that he's a teenager, his life revolves around his friends, his own personal space, and his games of course.

@toniganzon oh yes I know that. That is the reason I want them to involve in games or we play as a grouo as our bonding. Soon enough they will be teenagers too

I love playing Scrabble. I tried teaching my fiancés nephew and niece but they didn't understand it well enough then. But now the pieces are all lost.
Was one of my favorite games though.

Yes, not as a child but as a young adult. I am glad you are helping your kids learn the joys of being together and playing board games. Good job.

i played scrabble with my parents before. it was to test and challenge our vocabulary. my kid brother was the champion of scrabble board game during their intramurals in College.

I love to play scrabble. My brother's girlfriend and I would play scrabble for hours. Another game I love to play is Yahtzee.

@rakski It is like playing poker but with dice instead of cards. You keep score on score pads. The highest score wins of course. It is a fun game.

I did play scrabble at times..nowadays I usually play Words With Friends..but I have played scrabble sometimes.
