Tonight my husband and I are in Latrobe, Tasmania after arriving two days ago on the ferry from Melbourne, mainland Australia. We’ve had an interesting few days here. We found a free campsite for two nights but tonight we have booked into a ‘proper’ campsite. I’ve washed and dried all our accumulated laundry and now we’re charging up everything that needs to be charged – camera batteries, computer batteries, etc.
Tomorrow we move on to Sassafras and from about 1pm on, we’ll be busy taking photographs at a horse endurance ride. We’ll take photos in the vetting ring then on Saturday we’ll find a vantage spot to photograph the riders out on the track.
We’ve bought some extra warm clothes here as it is pretty cold. Much colder than we’re used to but not ‘cold’ cold like it can be in some other countries. On Wednesday we walked round Dove Lake which is just below Cradle Mountain. It was a lovely sunny day so we were extremely lucky with the weather. The walk was a bit over 6 kilometres and took us nearly three hours. There were a lot of steps along the way but the scenery was incredible.
The photo is of the lake. It’s hard to know which photo to put up but here’s one to start with, taken at the start of the walk.

Talking of Tasmania it took me to Milford Sound in Switzerland. Somehow your posts take me back to my own memories.

It's a great name isn't it? There are some other cute names here too. I'm trying to get photos of some of them.

That is a very nice picture. An former Australian friend of mine took his family on vacation to Tasmania. He said one thing he enjoyed about the trip was eating spearmint ice cream. It sounds good to me..some places have teaberry here but it is hard to find.

We live in Western Australia and we're holidaying in Tasmania so we are several thousand miles from our home.

Beautiful scenery. This morning I'm waking to sunshine and it's supposed to reach a balmy 18°C today. I might even wear capris and sandals,

It would need to be more than 18C for me to wear capris I think. We have been rugged up to the hilt but the locals are much less heavily attired.
