myLot is where I like to discuss things and enjoy my time online.

Discussions are what myLot is all about. In order to start a discussion you have to have something on your mind you want to talk about and share with other members. So If you are new be sure to read the guidlines in myLot / Help and enjoy the satisfaction of having other members discuss things with you. Topics should be based on your own interests and be honest and original. I have been enjoying a good bit of my time here and I have learned from experience that being outgoing and friendly is the best way to get responses. Be open minded but don't get angry. Not everyone will like every topic. I only read and comment on the topics I find interesting. You will enjoy it if you are a newbie. You won't get rich but you might just make a friend or two or three or four or .... so have fun and be real.

I have learned that having understanding and patience works best and at one time I was more likely to get into trouble. I still do now and then.

for me "be real" means when you find a quote online and want to share it here, 1. tell me where you got it, and 2. tell me why you're sharing it, and how you apply it in your life. it's the same with news stories. give us the source (in case we want to read the details also) but also tell us your opinion about it.

I rarely have anything "interesting" on my mind, particularly lately, but I'm glad the occasional person still stops by my posts.

Be real and also write more than just five words. So many people here only write discussions that are short and their responses to other's discussions are the same, very short. I also find it beneficial to ask a question in a response. The question could be ignored but it could be answered which brings up other discussion as well. I have come across people here who do not like it when other people get to talking on their discussions. Have you come across this?

Some might think their discussion has been hijacked. But for me, the more comments on any discussion will bring more revenue to that person's discussion, that is, I believe this to be so. Am I right?

@lookatdesktop That is where I am a little uncertain as well. I think the person who is tagged gets the earnings and that may be why some users get upset. However, even if that is the case, it's just as easy to join into the conversation and put your two cents in, quite literally.

@ScribbledAdNauseum , I figure as much. Still not exactly sure. But I do know that other members who have been around a lot longer than I have, know one way or T-other.

It is more than that. I get such great ideas out here. My mind I feel starts thinking over problems of others, and even mine or those of my country. Under normal circumstances, I would not have devoted so much time to think many things, and even if a thought had come, and it was brilliant, by my standards, it would not have been shared. Here, I get to share. I get to learn so much. I love myLot. Money is secondary.

It is a bit of a bummer when I write a discussion but hardly anyone responds, especially if I spend a long time writing/editing it. Sometimes, I will write something not expecting much interaction but the discussion gets lots of it. And sometimes, I will write something hoping for lots of interaction but it hardly gets any. It's really hard to predict what will get lots of interaction with the exception of talking about earnings or payments, the weather or what I had for breakfast, dinner, etc. Those usually seem to get a fair amount of responses. Good discussion by the way. I think newbies tend to start posting one discussion after the other without reading the FAQs or help section or the terms and conditions.
