A Long Day

It's been along day. My betterhalf found a doctor who would see him on short notice and went to see him early this morning. The doctor checked him out and collected urine and blood.
The lab was right there so before he came out my-betterhalf knew what was wrong and came out with a prescription in his hand.
He has a severe kidney infection. They gave him a shot of antibiotics and a prescription for antibiotics. He rested most of the day and I've been here to check on him. We're hoping he'll feel better in a few days. If you remember his family doctor ordered a scan that showed nothing wrong.
And he didn't order a urine or blood test. I want my betterhalf to find another family doctor. I think this doctor should retire. He clearly isn't fit to practice medicine.

Hi Ruby. Hope your husband will be better for the next following days. Some doctors think they still have that same “charisma” as they used to have.

@RubyHawk How long will he have to take those? A couple of weeks?

@ScribbledAdNauseum I think it is for 14 days. If he doesn't feel better in a few days he was told to check into the hospital.

Thank goodness he discovered what was wrong. If left unattended that could get real serious.

Wow how could the doctor miss a kidney infection? Thankfully your hubby has antibiotics now and will probably feel better soon. Hope he finds a new doctor

I´m glad that he is on his way to get better. I agree, some doctors forget that an easy test could change everything for good.

I have 'fired' 4 doctors in the past few years--mainly for keeping me waiting for more than an hour past my scheduled time!!
I like my primary as he listens but I told him if he said, "It's old age, Martin," when I know something is wrong I told I would bop him so at least he is coming up with better excuses!

My betterhalf is pretty laid back but this time he's ready to fire a doctor and I think he should. I think his family doctor was negligent. If he had tested three weeks ago My betterhalf wouldn't have been so sick. I could almost bop him myself

You put your trust in doctors and it's very worrying if they come up short. I'm glad your husband has been diagnosed correctly now and treated.

yes, it is always good to seek for a second opinion. that is what we sometimes tell our patients here if they doubt the diagnosis of their doctor
