Red cars go faster - but maybe not this one

One of the items we saw at Tasmania’s Museum of New and Old Art (MONA) was this ‘fat car’. The sculptor is Erwin Wurm, an Austrian born in 1954 in Bruck an der Mur, Styria, Austria. He has created a series of ‘fat cars’ which are meant to portray a critical view of consumer culture and the obsession of the West with material objects.
To get the puffy, obese shape Wurm uses polyurethane foam and Styrofoam. The whole thing is then covered with lacquer. Most Porsches look much more streamlined than this podgy vehicle. It looks like it’s had a few too many takeaways but I bet it would get a lot of stares while waiting for the lights to change.

Do you think you would like driving in it? It would draw a lot of attention. You'd need to dress up before you stepped out in it.
