In my entire life, I haven’t experienced a surprise party. I was always the one who throws a surprise party to others. I am not whining about it. I am just wondering how it feels to be surprised on natal’s day.
I was too busy the whole week and it will be ended the preparation for my little niece’s birthday tomorrow. It will be a surprise party for not knowing what will be the theme of her 7th birthday.
“Where do you usually hold a birthday party, in a house or restaurant?”
Did you ever have or throw a surprise party to someone?”

I had two surprise parties for the same birthday one time! Our kids met us at a restaurant out of town, then my husband invited friends to a party at our house. Being born four days after Christmas, not many people want to go to parties. If I were near you, I'd throw you the biggest surprise party ever!

@Shavkat My husband doesn't like surprises at all, but I know you'll have a wonderful surprise party one day.

@1creekgirl I do think that some people don't like surprises. I hope I can have at least one surprise party.

I had a friend who organized a surprise party for his wife. I was at the party, and we had a great time. She got really surprised, she had no idea that he had arranged a party. When I graduated from high school my parents arranged a surprise party for me. They just told me that we going out for dinner and when I opened the door to the restaurant at least 50 relatives and friends were waiting for me

@Shavkat Yes, it was fun. At my own party my grandmother almost ruined the surprise. She said: "I'll see you tonight" and I thought: "Tonight? But I am just having dinner with my parents"

@Porcospino I think your granny didn't say it intentionally.

*smiling at you* I don't care for surprise parties. Inevitably, something always goes wrong, so I prefer not to have the added stress that would go with a surprise party.
When Pretty was still in grade school and High School, we planned and threw birthday parties for her and her friends. (Her mother didn't like having parties, so those had to wait until it was just Pretty and I before we could have them.) We only had one birthday party for her in a restaurant. (I believe she and her friends were 11 years old.)
The party was at Chuck E Cheese's. I bought a birthday pack for them.
So, who is the handsome young man you are using as your avatar? One of your nephews?

Make your kid’s birthday one to remember! See how Chuck E. Cheese’s kids’ birthday party packages make it easy to create fun memories for everyone.

You look about 15 or maybe 16 years old in that photo. (How old were you when it was taken?)
If you want to see me as a young kid, the discussion I wrote about missing someone has my youngest brother and I at the top of it.
Edit to add: OOPS! The discussion about being less actively worried is the one with the picture of my littlest brother and I on it!

@ridingbet I agree. We only spend money if it is needed.

@Shavkat well we Ilocanos are 'matipid' or better yet, thrifty. we save a lot too, so i think it is fair to say we are not of the 'spending-much-for-birthday-celebrations' type of persons.

Not for me but for both my parents. They were both fantastic affairs and they were totally surprised.
We had all of their friends invited to the party so we had to rent out a dinning room area in a restaurant. Great memory

I have never had one, or thrown one, or been to one. As I don't like surprises, or parties.

I have stop celebrating my birthday when I reach 40 over two decades ago. But I appreciate the thoughtful gesture when I get a greeting from friends and relatives. That pretty much sum up my "surprise" during my birthdays.
My grandchildren more or less expect me to prepare something for their birthdays so it's impossible to keep it a surprise.

suprise party is always an unforgettable event. Unfortunately, i haven't experienced that one. I usually hold my birthday at home. I prepare food for everybody to eat and we sing karaoke. That's what I usually do on my birthday.
