I did not forget you guys

On a whim we drove to Oklahoma today. Due to a mixup I had left my checkbook there. We could have done without it for another few days until I went back, but we wanted it. Besides, I did not get hugs the other day when we left. I stayed in the car. Got to hug my sister in law and my dad. We also needed to find the location for hubby to go for his test next Wednesday, so he could see how long it would take him to drive. Before hubby got up and we decided to do this, I was chopping veggies for some recipes. I have garlic, onions and peppers in a sealed bowl now, waiting to be put in meatloaf, lasagna, and a salad tomorrow. I will then have about two weeks worth of cooking done. When we got home I had to water everything as it did not rain enough the other day. So I did not forget you, I just was busy. I will be here more tomorrow I am sure. But if it does not rain, I have to mow.

Busy you. You have to mow. Me, too and summer heat is coming along. I dread putting on boots and socks and a long shirt- just in case a rock flies my way but I am going to have to at least do the front yard this weekend.

We are getting just enough rain that it seems constant. I call it my fitness plan.

I did use the hose, but many things you do not want to water from the top.

Atleast your checkbook was with family and you didn't need to worry about it's safety. I tend to chop up my veggies the day of whatever meal I am making. I could probably save time and money if I learned to freeze them or how long they can be kept in a container on the counter. I've read somewhere that chopped onions need to be used the same day and that a half of an onion saved lets out gases or some such that can be harmful to the stomach?

Oh, you do hear that about onions, but I have never had that problem. The other side of that is that if you chop onions and garlic the healthy enzymes develop that make it good for you. It all depends on what you read. Some people even say that an onion cut in half put in your sick room absorbs the virus, but that is not true.

I think a lot of people are missing this time of year, it is vacation time and time for family gatherings.

And time to be outdoors. I will frequently go to Oklahoma as I can to check on my dad and help my brother out.

I used to like cooking up enough that I could go without cooking for a few days.

Hope you got your checkbook back! I'm going to get a meatloaf that'll go on sale at Safeway this $5 Friday at Safeway. Enjoy your meal that sounds so delish! I'll be enjoying a meatloaf this weekend.

@GardenGerty Guess what happened? I went to Safeway, early, meatloaf all sold out. I stood there a bit then a gentleman came by and I babbled meatloaf is sold out to him. He was patient and told me get s raincheck from the cashier. So happy with my meatloaf raincheck and purchases. I love Safeway's little seed, fried fruits fill your own counter which is very good and cheaper prices.
