I got rid of most of my handbags and purses.

Today I started my real closet cleaning. As Leticia was sweeping floors, I started to do it alone. And decided to check on my purses and handbags, all of which are either too old or I don´t like. I said to myself: "you are old so you will not need 10 handbags". Some of them were decades old and had been used in another moments of my life. I bought a beautiful black handbag in Argentina and I have a wine color one that my husband gave me 20 years ago and I still love and use. The rest I can spare. Leticia took them all and will see if anyone at her house likes one. The rest, she will sell for nothing in her neighborhood. I saved a big black bag that was my mother´s to keep some papers inside. Tomorrow I´ll clean up some more. Today I feel I ought to be applauded How do you do your cleaning? I´m a bit of a hoarder although no one would notice.

It feels good when you let go of things you've had for a long time and no longer use. I can be a hoarder too.

It is important that I make room for some things I do use.

@marguicha Yes, I agree. Out with the old, in with the new.

After I have experienced how painful has been to clean my mom's apartment, I am now in the process to get rid of everything we do not use anymore.

@marguicha I do not want that others have to go through the big task I had to endure.

I do not clean out enough, but I do take bags of things away to donate. Not nearly enough, but it is still a good feeling.

There was a time when I would collect all sorts of purses to go with my wardrobe . . . but I don't have the energy to switch out anymore . But I have kept some on hand - the rest I got rid of. I can be a hoarder, especially with books and craft supplies - and it will be noticed unless I control it all !

@marguicha And you would not like to dispose them?

That's cool. I donated most of mine to charity and threw the torn ones. There are those who always need a little something more than us, and I think sharing is indeed caring.

I bought myself a new one and will try to buy another one during the summer. My new handbag is made of leather and of a good brand.

If there are any clothes or things I don't need at home, I will clean them up in time. I hope everything in the house is useful.

Your discussion reminded me of the top shelf in my bedroom. It contains all my bags. I don't know how many I have, but I know that I don't use them all. One day I will go through them and give some of them to charity.

I had kept them because all were leather and had been beautiful. But I don´t use them or need them any longer.
