Do you like hot peppers? If you figure that the jalapeno is typically under 10,000 on the Scoville heat scale, then the world's hottest, the Carolina Reaper, is an average 1.6 million on the scale. This pepper is gnarled and red in color with a small pointed tail. This spring a 30+ man complained of severe headaches several days after eating some of these peppers. Revealed in brain scan done on him showed several arteries in his brain had constricted. This lead to a diagnosis of RCV syndrome(reversible cerebral vasoconstriction). Can you believe it?

Thank goodness hot peppers never agreed with me. I'll stick to the milder ones I grow in my garden.

@celticeagle Fun fact- peppers have more vitamin C than an orange. Nice to know those bell peppers are so nutritious.

I love hot peppers, but I think that every person has a different way of accepting a certain food. i use mild hot peppers to fill with cheese and fry them so that the cheese melts. Some people love them, others cannot stand them.

I like the mild ones too. How can a person enjoy a dish if it is so hot? I sure can't.

I like to eat pepper. But I always limit the amount of pepper I eat. Otherwise, my mouth bubbles easily.

So the pepper caused the constriction and the RCV or did it just reveal the RCV that had already been there?
