Question of the Day- Bank Tellers vs ATM's

Remember when you had to go inside a bank to make a deposit or withdraw cash from your account. No so today with the invention of the ATM machine. With drive thru personal banking, visiting your inside teller has become a rare occurence for most today.
Based on research, it is widely accepted that the first cash machine was put into use by Barclays Bank in its Enfield Town branch in North London, United Kingdom, on June 27th, 1967. In the U.S. it took a bit longer, but on September 2, 1969, Chemical Bank installed the first ATM at its branch in Rockville Centre, New York.
It took me awhile to adjust, but I have come around to the convenience of the ATM. I prefer doing my banking without dealing with or talking to humans. It is nice to have the control to bank when you want to, and sometimes, you can even avoid having to wait on lines.
Which brings us to today's question: Do you still use an inside bank teller for your banking business or are you strictly an ATM user? Just what are your reasons for choosing one over the other?

In the US, if you use your bank's ATM there is no charge.

@JohnRoberts Here there is a 5$ charge, that I do not intend to pay. There is no waiting time at my bank teller.

When making deposits, I prefer a human teller taking money/checks and handing a receipt. I worked too many years for a banks and know how ATM screw ups are all too common and not to be trusted for deposits. An ATM can also screw up on cash withdrawal which does not happen with a human teller.

I sure that is possible. I've never had that happen to me. Good to know! I knew there was a reason I always count my money before leaving the bank ATM

It's more convenient and time-saving to do all my banking online, ATM when necessary and in the bank when there is no other way.
Do you know why rivers are crooked? Because they take the easy way.

I bank very much like you do Hope. Did not know the river joke
I always thought the easiest or quickest way anywhere was a "straight line."

Very true. Our bank allows you to make deposits with their ATM so as long as you have the form slips you can just drive thru.

I do both actually. I use the ATM for cash withdrawal and I use the drive thru teller when I need to deposit. I rarely go inside the bank.

What an interesting history. I remember having to send those tubes into the bank in the drive up lane. I prefer ATM now though

Thanks for the comment about the history behind ATM's Faye. Thought it was kind of interesting to know when they started. I have also gone over to the ATM side, lol.

My banking is personal,
.Pros of being a small town person, I just make a trip to the bank , unload all my tasks on my students who work there, tell them to do it at their leisure, and come back later on in the day .
I do use ATM machines when I am out of station and I need to take out cash
