You know you're getting older when...

I'm telling you, I can't remember a thing today. It's a good thing I write myself little notes. I'd be lost without them. This morning when I woke up I was alone, no husband, no dog. Where the heck were they? It's not like the hubby to wander of and not tell me. I ran around, well, limped around the house looking for a note. No note anywhere. Then started looking at my little pile of notes that I write myself. Sure enough, there was a note I wrote telling me that he was going to his niece's house early and taking Luke. I must be getting older than I think. I didn't remember a think about it. Oh where oh where did I leave my mind? I think my rememberer is broken. Are you as bad as I am about remembering things?

I have a lot of "hereafter' moments. What am I here after. I do have piles of notes on my desk as well. Sometimes I remember.

I have those kinds of memory problems. I walk in the room and stand wondering why I am there.

@MALUSE I guess not but if I could just remember what I am doing, it sure would save time.

For the moment I cannot complain, my memory is good, I forget the names of people time by time, but this happened even when I was younger.

@MALUSE I have a good memory for the names of people we know personally, but when I think to a movie, I see the actor in my mind and I cannot remember immediately the name.

@MALUSE No, it's not really a problem, but it shows that my memory is not as good as it used to be.

@LadyDuck It sounds like me. I need to hear the name a few times before I can remember it.

I write myself little notes too. As long as I can find the notes later I am ok.

I have never had the fabulous memory that my husband has had. My Mom has dementia so the subject of memory and not remembering vital things makes me cringe.

@HazySue It frightens me at times how fast the days zip by. I cling to my silly journals.

I have my days. I hate it. It's mostly words I lose. I know what they are but for the life of me I can't think of the word I want to use at the time. I'm glad you write yourself notes.

@HazySue I should probably do the same, but how do you write yourself notes when it's the word you're looking for at the time you're writing? What I probably need a list of is words I know how to spell, but for the life of me forget how to when I need them most - the ones not used often that have a different spelling from what they sound like.

Unfortunately I do have the same problem that's why I wrote myself notes.

@HazySue I think I feel nothing logical in names and dates. They are just facts in which I am least interested. I am more towards logic

I did the same thing last week. I got up, couldn't find my husband anywhere. I called him and he reminded me that he was at the doctor. I thought the rapture had happened and I'd been left behind!

It's funny how we get involved in something and forget what is going on around us.
