Diary Monday 6th August 2018
I was told that my passport would be delivered today, though I wasn't given a time. I could actually choose a time for quite a high fee but I chose just to wait in all day if need be (in fact I had no plans for going out anyway).
As it happens, the courier came early, about 9.30 am, and to sign for an ID document, my passport, I had to show other ID first. I now have my passport and as with any passport ever it has such a handsome photo of me (it looks like a criminal's prison mug shot).
The rest of the day was spent catching up on various writing projects.

I love the idea that you have to have no plans to go anywhere in order to be able to get your passport...

Congrats on getting your passport. I love that song by Ringo. Both my US and Latvia passport makes me look like I just escaped from the looney bin.

@RasmaSandra I don't think anyone gets a good passport photo - I bet Marilyn Monroe looked like Alfred E Newman on hers

Even though you had all day, personally I prefer that deliveries come early so I do not sit and worry about the delivery. it gets so complicated--identification to get identification . . .he could have just checked the image on your passport.
