As for today, I end with what may be the biggest surprise, which is why it's "ranked," such as it is, at #1. #1: Gone With the Wind PLOT: South loses war, Scarlett loses Rhett. And frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn. I think it takes less time to read the book than to sit through the movie. Yeah, I know the plot and all the lines. But, truth be told, I'd rather see "Went With the Wind" for four hours. So sue me. Or as John Roberts said yesterday, take away my movie fandom card. Whichever way you go, thanks for reading. Gone With the Wind Directed by Victor Fleming Released in 1939 Here's Carol Burnett talking about "Went With the Wind," maybe the greatest moment in variety show sketch history:
Screen Actors Guild honoree Carol Burnett's life achievements including the beloved comedy sketch 'Went with the Wind,' a spoof on the film classic, 'Gone wi...

I can't stand this movie. Or the book. I've seen and read both.

@JohnRoberts Why? It's boring. The whole story was boring. The movie was too long.

Is it any wonder I reject you first? Gone. With. The. Wind. (To the tune of "Fame.")

That movie was SOOOOO long but we had no choice but to have to see it. I think it was maybe in 9th grade that we had to watch this in class . . . took several afternoons to see it all (so to us they were sort of like "episodes").

All the ladies in my family read the book except me. But I did see the movie: way too long.
