Anne is busy making heads

There is this global art quilt challenge for a show called "Forced to Flee." Throughout history people have been forced to flee from their homes for their own safety and survival due to war, oppression, natural disasters, and atrocious human rights violations. The refugee crisis has imposed severe impacts on the social, economic, and political structures of host countries, especially poor and developing countries. Right now there are millions of displaced people in refugee camps. Anne is making an art quilt for the challenge based on a photo she saw. Each evening, while watching TV she makes little heads from small "pom poms" purchased from a fabric store. She is adding head coverings and faces to many. I wanted to share a photo of this work in progress. She says she even makes up stories about them as she goes. I included part of the photo so you can see where she is going with this.

This is a lot of work, even more difficult when she will need to make the very little heads.
