While visiting our daughter and our 4 year old and 2 year old grandsons in Delaware, we got to see the very unique pirate ship / swing set they have in their backyard. It is adult size, so our son-in-law can play on it with the boys, too. I had promised to get pictures for @DianneN On one side of the pirate ship is a plank to walk up and a climbing wall next to it. On the other side there is an arm that extends out, with several swings hanging from it. On the back is a slide and a door into the interior of the ship, which creates a "club house" for the boys. My son-in-law plans to have a little backyard camping trip for the boys, with all of them sleeping inside the boat. On the deck, there is a fireman's pole, which also gives them entrance into the interior of the ship. In addition, there are two chin-up bars, built-in binoculars, a steering wheel and other fun things for the boys to play with and climb on. An Amish man and his son built the pirate ship in our daughter's backyard. Because the yards are open to each other, the neighbors all had to give their approval for it, which they graciously did. Our little grandsons love their pirate ship! They play on it nearly every day. I'll post a couple of additional pictures under comments as they come in.

That is neat! Thank you for the photos. My husband would have never gone into the house if he'd had that when he was a boy.

@DeborahDiane Secret rooms are great. As old as I am, I am delighted that the new to us house that we bought has a closet that runs under the stairs.

@sallypup - Yes, I think as the boys get older, they will enjoy it even more ... especially the "secret" room inside the ship!

I am so glad you remembered to get a more detailed photo for me. I absolutely love it!!!! I don't blame your grandsons for playing on it nearly every day, and I'm sure your baby granddaughter will, too, when she gets older. And welcome home!

@Hannihar - Yes, it rains and snows where they live, but it was built from redwood which is very durable and should be able to survive bad weather for years to come. I will be visiting them again soon and I will have to check out the pirate ship a little more with my grandsons!

@DeborahDiane I bet they will. Does it snow or rain where they live so it will have to be covered up for winter? That was an amazing and special and unique thing to do. They can invite their friends over to enjoy it with them.

@Shellyann36 - I think it helps that it is large enough for their Dad and Mom to play on it with them. It is truly a family pirate ship! LOL

@JudyEv - Yes, all the kids in the neighborhood are already enjoying it. Our daughter was pleased that even the neighbors who do not have young children gave their approval so it could be built. That was very kind of them.
