If you are a Filipino and good looking there are chances you will be raped. So says their President. Does he condone rape is the question,
Rodrigo Duterte was referring to a recent police report that Davao, his hometown where he once served as mayor, had recorded several instances of sexual violence.

It's not the first time that the President of the Philippines clearly shows that he is a macho and does not really respect a lot women. I remember the very rude joked about an Australian missionary who was raped and had her throat slashed during a jail siege. (He said "I was angry because she was raped, that's one thing … but she was so beautiful, the mayor should have been first. What a waste.").

@allknowing It is sad to see how rapists seem to be protected by politicians. In Italy there are many of the illegal immigrants who came with the boats who are raping women, but for some reasons they never end up in jail.

That is a shame that many voted for that person to reach presidency. His line of reasoning does not resound to the majority of us in the country. I guess we have no recourse for him to be replaced because there are still many who blindly follow this president unfortunately.

@allknowing It seems to be a trend you can include US at that. Our government even hired online trolls to keep watch and quash any dissenting opinions that’s spreading online. That’s why it’s really hard to know if the thier supporters are really the majority or not because the noise that’s created by his online trolls dominates around.

I respect your opinion of our President, for some who don't know him well will feel bad for him for his insolent words but for us who know him very well, we highly respect him in some ways. Yes, he has an awful mouth and some people disgrace him. But mind this, he is very smart. We Bisaya people have a different kind of humor than the Tagalog people. We know that he is still adjusting his tongue. We understand his humor and we know that he knows what he is saying. It's your opinion and I know he respected it as well.
