If you are late to a Broadway show you shouldn't be allowed to sit down

I went to see Pretty Woman: The Musical yesterday and I loved it! Just wished I had sat closer but my tickets were $99 each plus fees already. Sitting closer would mean spending even more, which I didn't want to do.
The experience was great with one exception. There were four people coming in late that were sitting in the row in front of me. To get into their seats those already seated in front of me had to get up, which meant I couldn't see what was happening on the stage until everyone finally sat down. You'd think all four would come to sit down at once. No!
First, three people came and sat down so I couldn't see everything while they made their way to the seats and those in front of me sat down. Then once I finally was able to see the action on the stage again the fourth person came in and it happened all over again.
And this wasn't it. The same thing happened later some rows down. Again my view was blocked and I couldn't see. Argh! Latecomers should not be allowed to sit down in their seats until intermission. Why should I miss the action happening on the stage because some bozos don't bother coming to the show on time.

That sounds very annoying. At my local theatre they are very strict. If you arrive a few minutes late they don't let you in and you don't get a refund if you have already paid for your ticket.

It's good that they do that.

@lovebuglena I agree. I would be annoying if people showed up in the middle of the play and ruined the experience for the rest of the people.

@Porcospino Latecomers don't care. And I guess the usher don't understand that latecomers disrupt the performance, if not for the actors than for the viewers.

I'd be writing to complain. At classical music concerts here, if you're late, you have to wait till a piece is finished before they'll let you in.
