Good morning myLot friends. Sorry I was absent yesterday. Me and the missus went out of town to visit my dad and celebrate his 81st birthday with family. We didn't get back until late evening. I do offer a conciliation today in the form of letting y'all be the first members of the public to see the proposed cover for my next book, STORM DAMAGE. I finished the Kindle version of the cover this morning. I would very much like to know what you think of it. The book itself is still in the editing and revision stage but I hope to start formatting the Kindle Version withing the next 6-8 weeks. I will be spending the rest of today finishing up the paperback version of the cover and working on edits of the book. How was your Saturday, and how do you plan to spend today?

Congrats on more than one thing then. Happy birthday to your dad. Also what a neat peaceful book cover. Is that a real picture of the North Carolina Ocean side or is that more of an artistic cover. Maybe it is both? I would like to hear how you came up with that. Some thought seems to have went into that one.

Thanks for the congrats. I wish I could take credit for the picture, but it is the result of hours of looking through stock photo websites until I found a picture that captured the story in the book.

My father's birthday was the same as my grandmother's. She always said he was her favorite birthday present. I'm glad you like the cover.

The title makes one wonder and want to read the book to see what happened to the woman on the cover.

To make the cover even more enticing I can tell you that depending on which of two women in the book you think suffers most, the woman on the cover could represent either or both of them.

@DWDavis I look forward to reading it when it is done keep me posted on it please. Yeah when it is hot out we don’t like to do lots of things. When it is hot out me and my boyfriend and our friends are all out floating the river in our kayaks or canoes. I am sure you will be looking forward to your fishing weekend.

I'm glad you like the cover. I've been working on the title page and copyright page this afternoon, once I got the cover as done as I can until I get a page count. I haven't been fishing this summer, first because of the hip, and later because it was too dang hot. I do have a trip planned for Evil European Invader Guy Day weekend.

@Tina30219 My fishing weekend is in jeopardy due to Florence. The storm should be long gone by that weekend but there's no telling if the pier we plan to fish from will still be there.

I'll go over to Amazon to see if you have other books there I don't know about. I like to review books -- especially if I get review copies from the author or publisher. I don't get as many ARCs now that I quit selling books myself and just started affiliate selling. I just checked Amazon and couldn't find anything listed yet by you. Feel free to message me the links if they exist.

@DWDavis They sound interesting. I checked earlier. When I did a search for your name and author I came up empty. So your link was helpful.

The photo is one I licensed from a stock photo website. My thought is the log on the right enhances the idea of things tossed about by the storm.

I'm glad you like the cover. Is all the rain you're getting the remnants of H. Gordon? We're keeping a weather eye on H. Florence right now. Unless she moves north and easy, we're in line for a direct hit.

@DWDavis Yes it is. We almost always get hit when they come in on the coast there. But thankfully the winds are usually done by the time the rain gets to us. I hope Florence changes course enough for you.

The editing is such a tedious chore. I find myself following the story line instead of looking for those little things that need to be fixed.

I think writing a book is easy but not when it comes to choosing a cover What we see in the picture is so soothing and says more without saying anything. Good Luck on your efforts.

KDP tools were pretty good I found. Translated that means I could work with them. I think the cover is really good. I hope you do well with the book.

I had read months ago that September is the month with more births in the United States and UK. Judging by the posts of myLotters this seems true. Happy Birthday to your dad.

Thank you. I'll be telling more about the book later. Suffice it for now to say that sometimes storms don't just damage the physical things.
