I have always enjoyed the saying "beside myself". Like you are so worried you are beside yourself with worry. So worried you are seeing hallucinations of yourself? I think it is funny. Do you have a favorite saying like this?

Live and learn. My best friend as we were coming home from an outing long ago once said it that she did something and it wasn't working, so her husband told her live and learn. When I do something that doesn't go right I tell myself this and it makes me feel better.

Yes I do, it was one dad used to say to mom when she'd worry for no reason, he'd tell her she was "making a mountain out of a molehill"

It is funny how saying just make sense no matter that they are ridiculous. I've always thought "beside myself" meant that one was so worried that they were sick. I can't think of a favorite saying off hand, I'll have to get back to you.
