I solved my 2 most difficult problems.

Thanks to my daughter Claudia, I solved my 2 most difficult problems. I had called Andrés to go with me for a flag. I knew that he could also fix my stuck glass door. But he couldn´t come today and tomorrow nothing is open by law. I had read that the fine for not having the flag on the front of your house was very high so I called Claudia. She did not have a flag either and she told me that I could get colored pencils and draw one. I was shocked If I were a cop, I´d take her to the police station. Fortunately, it was only a stupid joke and she said that she´d go and buy one for me and one for her. So she came after lunch with a very nice flag, had a coffee with me and got the thingie out of the glass door. Now I can open it. Everything else is not so important. But she understood the the door in my bedroom was my "earthquake door". That´s how I go out when it trembles. My husband made the main bedroom in the first floor so I could run out even with a very small earthquake

I almost killed her! But I was talking to her by phone. Still, the dear girl, went to buy a flag, brought it to my house and helped me set it up.

@Courage7 I, in turn, gave her some pita fiber to help her with her own flag.

So what happens if you do not have a flag in your house? Glad that your door was fixed.

@marguicha wow! Reminds of the recent news about people being jailed because they didn't stand up when our national anthem was played in the theater.

If there are cops around I might get a big fine. It has never happened and it is not the sort of thing that is so important. But suddendy I thought I might have to pay a fine just for not buying a not so expensive flag.

@allen0187 I have never heard of the fine to be given. Still, I was worried this year.

It's law to have a flag on the front of your house? I've never heard of that before. That's what I love about myLot. We had a 5.6 earthquake here a day or two ago.

We have to have a flag on the 18 and 19 of September and on May, 21th. I don´t like earthquakes. I should be used to them by now, but I am not.

@JudyEv If I was used to them, I could sell my house and live in a smaller apartment. And I would not be so worried about not having enough money when I´m older. All my life, I have lived in a way thinking about quakes It must be a phobia.

You HAVE to have a flag on your house? That is nuts.

3 days in a year. I find more nuts that some houses in the US have their flag all the year around. Then that ends up by not meaning anything.

@NJChicaa In my country, those 3 days mean a lot to us. It is as nuts as your use of the flags. For many years (during Pinochet) our National Anthem was sung with another extra verse alluding to the military. I sat down and did not sing. So did many people. I could have been sent to jail then. Flags and some songs mean special things for each country. I would have never used the word nuts for your use of the flag if you hadn´t used it first. You are nice, but tend to give opinions based only in your experience. And a flag in more important than to talk about whether we should or shouldn´t have a dog indoors.

@marguicha It means something to a lot of those people, especially if those families include veterans or if they have a family member or child that is currently serving in the military.
