Finding A Different Way

Relaxation. What a concept sometimes, huh? I have panic attacks, am very sensitive to stress. Finding something to relax me at times is like a monumental feet. Not available. It just goes too far in my head and I can't calm down. Now days I do have a pill I can take for the bad times but, I try to find others ways to calm myself first. I am working on being more positive and that really helps. So, something I noticed recently that really helps is that finding something of interest to divert your interest really helps. Before you know it you are relaxed.

If we lived closer we'd hassle each other. You'd be diverted and I'd be taken away from my boredom. We'd both get something wonderful done and all by a good time.

Maybe yoga meditation and breathing would help. It is not a religion, but a way to slow things down and be in the moment. I am sure there are classes nearby.

I love yoga. Breathing is something I always do. My degree of anxiety is such that the basics don't help much.

What specific things/activities do you do to divert your interest and feel relaxed.

I feel you. I sometimes have a panic attack. What I did was to cry. No pills. Sometimes it makes me feel better. Sometimes not, as I will have difficulty breathing or shortness of breathing.

Try doing things that'll make you feel relax. Maybe listen to calm music. Taking pills everytimes isn't too healthy. Or maybe sharing the matter with someone close might help.

I also have these problems. I practice meditation and take medicine to overcome my panic attacks.

It is really important to find ways to de-stress. I am glad you are finding ways to do it without medication.

I am happy to know you've found a way around the stress/anxiety you can feel. I know taking the pills can do the job, but the pills can also stress your body while they help your mind. Pretty has anxiety and panic attacks, too... She exercises to help take her mind off whatever is causing the problems.

Yes to change scenarios in your mind is hard to do but when you have a distraction as such it helps.

I experience anxiety/panic attacks too. It happens once or twice a week. I don't know what to do with it anymore. I have this thought of taking some pills but I am scared of the side effects. Plus, I am already taking a lot of maintenance medications right now.

Your thought pattern during this time is important. Usually there is nothing you can do about the problem at that moment so keeping that in mind. Also. try to be as positive as possible.
