My miracle Gatorade experiment! A must-read for all humans!

When I go hiking, I tend to bring Gatorade with me. I know that water is the "ideal," but Gatorade has a bit of sodium and potassium in it, so it helps me avoid cramps.
I recently did an "experiment" around frozen Gatorade. I put a bottle in the freezer overnight. Once I had a "Gatorade Glacier," I transferred it to my refrigerator.
To my (mild) disappointment, it was still a "glacier" the next morning, and I couldn't use it for my afternoon hike.
But on the *second* morning it was perfect. Basically a Gatorade Slushy. So if you want to have the "perfect" beverage for a hike, freeze Gatorade, and then put it in the fridge TWO days before your planned hike (or whatever).

That lilac/pink coloured monstrosity should NEVER be allowed to be called 'Lemon/Lime'!
I really thought that you had discovered an amazing wood finish for speaker cabinets involving Gatorade and MiniWax which magically made even the worst chipboard 3" units sound like the best Behringers.

Cool and looks refreshing but won't freezing and defreezing affect the Na and K composition in the drink? Perhaps we have to do more research on the molecular level since we do not yet know in what form they exist on Gatorade
I usually eat a banana and drink water when I plan to do some physical activity.

@TheHorse yes salt is good if cramps are caused by salt deficiency.
I don't know the exact composition ot Gatorade but I read that most energy drinks have caffeine which also depletes salts like Na and K since caffeine is a diuretic. So caffeine + sugar I think would serve better for short energy bursts but might run counter productive for sustained physical activity since it would cause dehydration and lose of electrolytes, anyway its just my opinion and personal analysis

It depends on the temp. I sometimes take frozen water bottles on a long car trip and they thaw gradually leading to some nice cold water to drink, and in the interim they are like little icebergs.

That's nice experiment but I guess I'll stick Gatorade as it, anyway cramps usually happen when you are lack of training or practice. A friend of mine gave me saltstick for my running but did not use it yet.

I like the orange and red one. But I'd still go for water to quench my thirst on a hot and humid day.

I think it depends on how cold your refrigerator is. I think normal settings for the refrigerator might have done well in one day. I find that if I put things at the back of my refrigerator they actually freeze. I think the setting is too low.

If you drink part of it first and then freeze it it tends to work better. I love Gatorade!

I think I would rather just make the slushy with a blender instead of waiting haha I don't like putting plastic bottles in the freezer
