Welcome to today's spotlight in history. Today's history highlights the 20th century.
First, is about a president, I know very little about, Woodrow Wilson. In 1919, a year after the end of World War I, President Woodrow Wilson suffered a stroke he would not recover from. Weeks before he suffered a collapse after a hectic speaking tour. He would never recover from the stroke that left him partially paralyzed.
Second is an event that took place in my lifetime, and many people still view this today. You could now leave the confines of your home, through your imagination, brought about through the incomparable talent of Rod Serling. In 1959, The Twilight Zone premiered, and television hasn't been the same since. I know one person personally who had trouble sleeping after several episodes, and one in particular, the episode with the wax dummies in the basement, was the last time I ever watched this or any other chiller/horror shows. I found out how much I valued my sleep.
Next up is for your recreational pleasure. In 1968 President Lyndon Johnson signed into law the North Cascades National Park Act. This national park is home to more glaciers, 300, than any other park, and encompasses both the U.S. and Canada, British Columbia. Its vast forests are also home to the highest degree of flora biodiversity of any other national park. As beautiful as this park is, it receives the fifth fewest visitors per year of all parks at 30,326. Gates of the Arctic National Park in Alaska being the fewest at 11,177. With all the beauty North Cascades National Park has to offer, it would be a shame for it to go unnoticed.
And last, but certainly, not least is a first for the Billboard 200 album chart. In 1995 Alanis Morissette became the first Canadian to sit on top of the chart with her song Jagged Little Pill, which would also become the number one album of the 90s. I know some of our music aficionados would know her and this song.
Thank you for reading.

I enjoy watching The Twilight Zone on late night cable. They are pretty interesting story lines.

I have been to North Cascades National Park and surprised it receives so few visitors in Washington State as it is not that far from Seattle.
