Work, of course. Kiddo one tried to bite his dad. Which did not bode well for staff at school. Kiddo two was sleepy and did not feel good, but no fever. He got an hour and a half nap. Kiddo three managed to totally miss recess by refusing to do what he needed to do in the bathroom. He is seven. We are potty training. We went to visit the miniature horses. Kiddo two, who has done this for a year, went with the owner inside the gate while she was putting on the bridles. I told him he needed to keep his feet out of the way or he would get stepped on. He did not listen. His cow boy booted foot got stepped on by a mini horse. Then the horse came through the gate and stepped on mine. He had also stepped on the owner's foot. Other than that kiddo two and I had a really good day with the horses. He practiced grooming and leading our horse. We checked the mail for the owner. I was proud of how he behaved today. Weekly team meeting today. We ate chocolate and talked. Hubby took me to a new pizza place. Looks like a dump outside, but the inside was cute in black and gray paint and white. Sparkly decor on the walls and salad bar. Hubby says it was one of the best pizzas he ever had. I am at home, showered, washed dishes, scrubbed a tub and sink. I should be ready for bed. Tomorrow starts the shop hop after work.

Some horses seem to make stepping on toes into an art form. I have one slightly deformed toenail from it being stepped on once too many times.

I was glad these were miniature horses. Not so much weight. It was a real shock to my kiddo.

@GardenGerty Even the weight of a goat can hurt. They have quite sharp hooves too.

I'm glad the pizza was good and the inside looked much better than out. Also glad you mostly had a good day with the horses. Sorry about the other two kids though.

Yes, the inside was like a pretty little jewelry box. Kiddo three will learn that he has to do what he is told or he will miss out. Kiddo one is non verbal so he takes extreme measures to express himself.

It sounds as if that horse wasn't having a good day itself. Stomping on everyone's feet. I'm sorry all those kiddos had a bad day of it. Sometimes "hole in the wall" type places have great ratings and even better food. There's a japanese / chinese buffet that is delicious, with a great rating (grade A in health) and yet the outside needs work. The fountain needs general maintenance and cleaning. As for the kid who bit his dad... There is a picture of me as a baby biting my father's shoulder. I might have it in the photo album that was my mom's.. Might have to have a look-see.

My son was not an all the time biter, but once in a while he would get excited and do a "happy bite".Generally I was not a "bite them back" type mom, but one day he saw something he liked outside and ran across the room and bit my knee, I was in shorts. I did bite him back, he did quit doing that. I baby sat a biter who was much worse. I think perhaps we all do it once or twice. I will look for your cute pic.

Actually it was. I am a persistant person with these behaviors of three, and he will learn because he loses out every time. I also know how to lift kiddo one into his wheel chair in a way that keeps me clear of his mouth.

You have a hard job. I think special needs kids are harder to deal with than the older people I deal with with special needs.

In some ways yes, other ways no. I get a lot of satisfaction when I see progress.

Those kids did not have a good day at all. At least you had some good pizza.

I love that about the horses. I'd love that part of the job. You do work for a living. I hope you find some joy in it.

I would not be at this job if it was not so satisfactory. I think I will need to work for a long time still, but this job has a joy quotient as well. The teaming and schedule is getting better.

@GardenGerty Yes there must be sweet moments of sharing with the children. I'm glad there is a joy quotient.
