Resting in closet for an year...

India is a land of festivals. Now one gets over and we are here to welcome another grand one. Now I have to keep these dandiya sticks and all our traditional dandiya clothing back to the closet for good one year. So here they go as I wind up with the festive mood of Navratri and dandiya nights. So we wait for another year to take them out and hit the dance floor. And I am all set to welcome Diwali, the grandest of all festivals which comes this year on November 7. This is festival of lights. And once I get over Diwali fever, Christmas mood will come. So it is just season of festivals. Oops!! I forgot Halloween excitement. It is my younger ones birthday and she has planned it as a Halloween party with her friends. So now I have to search the things in closet to make it a perfect Halloween party and birthday party. The picture is of dandiya sticks that we use during navratri every year.

Dandiya is something that used to be associated with Gujaratis when I was young. It has over the years moved across to different parts of the country. It sure is an art to dance without injuring another person and SELF. And yet look graceful not somebody using physical attributes to attract attention.

Yes a beautiful art without injuring each other. We dance with sticks for sometimes and then later as we get excited we keep the sticks away and dance without it. Cannot control the sticks in over excitement.
