I know it's not much, but it's a start. 169 words written on my 2018 NaNoWriMo project "Half of Forever" this morning before work. If you're NaNoing this year, are you off to a good start?

I am not NaNoWriting, being obliged to write blocks me.

I would be writing anyway, so NaNo just adds a bit of fun to it for me.

@DWDavis I would feel "forced" to do something, this is something I have always avoided.

I can`t seem to find the time to write. That is a good start.

I spent about 10 minutes on the computer this morning before work. Now that I'm home, I'll probably spend about an hour before dinner and then another hour or so after dinner. My goal is 1,667 words a day, on average, and I want to surpass that today to build a cushion.

NaNo is a lot of fun for me and I've actually gone on to publish two of my projects as books. It is how The Boy from Buzby Beach got started.

@JudyEv It has worked out well for several authors. One lady writer who got her start on NaNoWriMo just donated a hefty sum to the not-for-profit that sponsors the event.

@DWDavis I've read that it's been quite successful for a few people and has led to their novels being published.

NaNoWriMo is an annual writing challenge in November. It challenges writers to write 50,000 original words of a new novel in 30 days.

To me, those are a lot of words to write first thing in the morning. It takes me one hour to even say, "Good morning."

That's a good start, I think...I've never done a NanoWrimo novel before. I wrote some tonight (134 words) but not sure I will be finishing it within the 30 days.

Just wait until you have a chance to get into the zone. Last night in about an hour I typed over 1,000 words. Keep working at it and the words will come.
