Free Soy Sauce

Was my soy sauce free? Well, yes and no. It depends on how you look at it I suppose. But I certainly feel like my bottle of soy sauce was free.
The other night after walking through the neighborhood with the niece and nephew with my sister and brother-in-law for trick or treating, we decided to order out for some Chinese food.
After the tip we spent a little over $100.
But, for whatever reason, the Chinese restaurant we frequent loads us up with many, many packets of soy sauce and sweet and sour sauce. I opened them all up, and funneled them into my soy sauce bottle, which was empty, and when I got done I had an entire bottle of soy sauce with packets to spare.
I also got nearly an entire jar of sweet and sour sauce out of it. I like to use it for a glaze or to incorporate into a braising sauce.
I call it free even if we spent $100 on food.

I also do this! We get the malted vinegar from Captain D`s and I put it in my bottle.

@andriaperry Good idea as well. I generally make use of any and all sauce packets I have. There is always a use even if there is not enough to fill a jar.

Well, to be fair, it was for 6 people and my sister and brother-in-law chipped in for it. But even when my wife and I just order out for Chinese, we easily drop more than $50, but we also wind up with quite a bit leftover so it works out. Using up the packets is just a little added bonus.
