I Am A Sucker For McRib

So, of course the McDonald's McRib sandwich is back on the menu for a limited time, and I don't know what it is about it, since it is not that particularly good a sandwich, I just enjoy it each year when it comes out. So, it looks like the best opportunity to indulge in one, or two...probably two will be this week, probably on Wednesday, since I will be back on the road traveling for work. Is it even pork? Is it any meat from the ribs? I highly doubt it. But the combination of that mystery meat patty, onions and pickles smothered in barbeque sauce which doesn't even really taste like barbeque sauce is just good to me. What about you? What do you think about the McRib sandwich? Gotta have it or you won't touch it with a ten foot pole?

I don't like the MC rib at all, when I worked there the bbq sauce was the worst thing to clean out at night and it burned your eyes while washing it.

It will probably burn a hole in my stomach as well. Oh well. What can one do? It's only for a limited time.

I've never seen it here but we never go to McDonald's anyway. I like the Hungry Jack Whopper Junior (burger) and Vince likes KFC so they are our choices on the few occasions when we eat junk food.

@porwest I have an idea Hungry Jacks was once in the US but isn't now. It's just another fast food outlet. I can get a Junior Whopper and a strawberry sundae for about $A5 which is really, really cheap.

Not sure if I ever heard of the Hungry Jack Whopper. Maybe it's on our menu here in the States and I just missed it? Hmm. Now you have my curiosity up. As for fried chicken, there's a place around here called Lee's and I like them much better than KFC. But KFC DOES have the line on cole slaw though, hands down.

@JudyEv I don't know that I ever heard of there being any Hungry Jack's in the US. From what I know it is a franchise of the Burger King Corporation and only operates in Australia. I could be wrong. I imagine their menu is similar but I have no idea. As for the cost of that food, does seem inexpensive. That would convert to under $4 US.

I never had it, and actually, don't eat at fast food places except Five Guys once in awhile. Enjoy whatever makes you happy! I enjoy haggis, so there!

@porwest Yep, haggis is that and I love it. I only have had it in Scotland and a few years later in Ireland and loved it. I wouldn't eat it anywhere else, though. My haggis is your McRib.

If haggis is what I think it is, egads! I am not sure that seems very appealing to me. But I AM touting a McRib, mind you.

Wait, it's back? How did I not hear about this? Is it only in certain areas?

It's back here. 2 for $5. Not sure if they schedule the return everywhere on the same time line. But it is definitely back here.

@spiderdust Yeah, it should be on the menu. I believe it's nationwide although I could be wrong.

They are good. Like I allude to, not the best thing in the world. But there IS something about them, and I do like them. For whatever reason I just have to have them when they come back around each year.

The McRib is one of my favorite sandwiches at McDonalds. They never come back here in Canada but I wish they would.

I've never tried it, but I am not a fan of ribs to begin with. Hopefully you'll enjoy though!
