I hate political rants. I avoid them like the plague. They bring out the absolute worst in people. But today, I reached my "stupidity tolerance" level. First, let me say I'm not calling anyone who voted one way or the other "an idiot." That infuriates me. Everyone Monday was saying "vote your conscience," then Tuesday they were, "How could anyone have voted for.... ?" Simple, they voted their conscience, and not YOURS. Secondly, I'm also sick of the stereotypes. "All" Democrats don't want forced abortions and 99.5% tax rates for everyone, just as all Republicans don’t want slavery and no women's rights, and just as all Muslims aren't terrorists. Everyone? STOP IT. A politician having an (R) or (D) after his/her name doesn't make him/her the "bad guy/gal" or your "friend" because he/she is from "your" party. It's my considered opinion that there's no such thing as a politician who is anyone's "friend"....until it's re-election time. Okay, with all of that out of the way..... I BELIEVE DONALD TRUMP IS A FREAKING IDIOT. Seriously, did they go through some turbulence on Air Force One and he hit his head or something???? Check out the tweet he sent about the fires in California: There is no reason for these massive, deadly and costly forest fires in California except that forest management is so poor. Billions of dollars are given each year, with so many lives lost, all because of gross mismanagement of the forests. Remedy now, or no more Fed payments! Wow, where do you start with something like that? Should we tell him that the federal government is in charge of the forests that are "grossly mismanaged"? Should we point out the perpetual drought in areas of California, and ask him if he wants Governor Moonbeam to do a rain dance? Most significantly, where in the HELL is this man's sense of decency? Did you ever hear Obama say, "Oh, well, those fires hit predominantly Republican areas and those people are rich anyway, so screw 'em"? PEOPLE DIED, Mr. President. Do you understand that? I don't care if they were white or black, straight or gay, Christian, Jew, Muslim, Buddhist, or atheist, male or female. These people LOST THEIR LIVES. They've also lost their properties, their possessions, their livelihoods, and -- in the case of the people in Paradise, California -- their entire town. Could you ever imagine Clinton, Bush, Carter, or Reagan saying, "Hey, why don't you people just move out of the 'tornado alley' because all these disasters are costing us too much money"? Where is a little sympathy? Just a LITTLE!!!! One of my favorite songwriters is Randy Newman. Way back when he wrote a song called "Mr. President (Have Pity on the Working Man)." There was a line in the song that said: Maybe you're cheatin', maybe you're lyin' Maybe you have lost your mind Maybe you only think about yourself "Maybe"? Sorry for the rant.
